Oh yeah, it definitely felt like they were chasing me as I was trying to get the fuck away from them. I was a liberal back then (by the definition, but fuck "classical liberal" bs the word's dead), I was all in favour of Occupy Wallstreet, the Atheism movement suited me too, and they spread into basically every nerdy thing I had/have an interest in.
Everywhere. Even memes from /x/ like SCP. Fucking everywhere.
They infested the shit I found interest in, then kicked me out of the discussions.

@BlinkRape @LukeAlmighty @dave historically conspiracy theories (or at least government fuckups expected to relate to a conspiracy) seem to be hidden long enough for truly interested parties to die off, and then people justify continuing to allow the systems that profited from the conspiracy to continue existing because "new management" or whatever and the idea that current leadership is more honest than the old guard 🙄
