People think that being “principled” means having their principles. It’s impossible to have other principles in their mind. There are some good principles to have, though. For one, Illegitimi non carborundum or “don’t let the bastards grind you down.” Don’t let them steal your soul or turn you into a golem of some sort. Act in the interests of yourself, your family, and your “people” (whatever that means, in-context), and don’t issue these copes about whatever reality is.
I try to live by these principles (and sometimes fail to for whichever reason), but they aren’t bad just because they’re principles.
