The age of "I just want to be left alone" is long gone my friend. Unless you want to pack up and go innawoods that is. Even then with the advancement in technology it's probably going to be next to impossible to Uncle Ted unless you've genuinely never had any prior contact with society.
I get your sentiments, I truly do, and I've been told various responses when I spoke of it ranging from "it's just the birth pangs of a growing movement" to "X is an Y website, it's part of the culture". Both valid arguments in their right of course but it definitely leaves one dissatisfied. At best one could hope to find their little Niche of like-minded friends in the community and parlay on only the grander things with the greater, and at worse one just has to swallow the pain of watching the global filled with scantily clad ChinkToon girls.
