@Dan_Ramos
I hate these nitpicks cause they're always an issue for just one specific culture/language (usually American/English) and not a problem inherent with the subject of the controversy (in this case chess itself).
This is not an issue with the game of chess, there's no "Christian roots" in the game. Stop trying to problematize an ancient game and its players.

Case in point, in Romanian, the exact same chess piece is called "the madman". The game is not the issue. The thing you're annoyed at is not chess, it's your local culture. And you're annoyed because you can't cope with the fact that you're in a minority that has no respect for the culture of your nation. FUCK OFF if you don't like it.

As if France stands for "liberté, égalité, fraternité" anymore. Sit down France, you're not allowed to talk.

@grey Honestly, I feel like the over usage of notifications in apps is kinda raping our attention spans, so this sounds like a fair trade.

@LukeAlmighty Usually I'm good at figuring out when there's a typo, or bad grammar, and can decipher the message and ignore the mistakes. But I wasn't sure if "fress" was some cycling specific jargon I wasn't aware of.

@LukeAlmighty I'm not sure what a "fress" is, maybe that's a typo on your part. But if you mean the shirts and pants cyclists wear, then they're not made to look good. They're made to be aerodynamic and light. Which usually entails being skin tight, and made from some shitty synthetic fiber, which, as a side effect, just looks hella gay.
So to answer the question, sports gear are intentionally made to look the way they do, but looking gay is an unfortunate coincidence and not the actual intention.

I mean, we're talking about a 2000 year old faith, that got written down decades after Jesus, and then got drastically edited by priests hundreds of years later. Of course it's all wrong. And that's not even considering the translation and transcribing errors.

@mushroom_soup Is he unaware that Christianity says witchcraft/wizardry comes from Satan? So realistically, that would mean that Jesus was either the son of God or straight up a disciple of Satan. If Jesus was God, he would have forgiven Judas anyway, cause all loving and what not. But if Jesus was a satanic wizard, then betraying him would have protected people from evil.
Point is, even if technically 50/50 is shitty odds, Judas still did the right thing.

I still feel like "divide your age by 2 and add 7" is still the best rule for these questions.

Visually it would definitely be a great movie. All of his work focuses on sci-fi and alien stuff. It's right up his alley. The question is whether he'd get the story, characters and political world building right.

@maxmustermann
You know what... I didn't expect it. I thought it would be just another straight white male 20 year old antifa thug.

@hfaust @anemone
I'm conflicted. Blomkamp has made good movies. Not one has matched District 9 so far, but he's been ok.
On the other hand, considering today's political context, the amount of pressure that is gonna be on this remake, to turn it into an exercise of scoring political points... it's gonna be insane. I don't see how this would be allowed to be just a good modern adaptation of the novel.

Why is YouTube showing me a gun video, and what is a LMG in the context of military weaponry?
