@beardalaxy did you even play god of war
it had all the red flags of a m*le feminist
@tomie i'm playing it right now for the first time actually. lots of blood, boobs, violence, and fuckin. is it red flag because it is over the top or something?
@beardalaxy misogyny is the reddest of all red flags, and this series of poorly aged qte galore just reeks of it
@tomie eh, kinda true ngl
@beardalaxy Simple, he's an NPC.
No moral compass of his own.
He just did what the industry around him did at the time.
"God of War" came out 2005.
For reference, "Prince of Persia - The Sands of Time" came out 2003, it's sequels "Warrior Within" and "Two Thrones" followed yearly, 2004 and 2005 respectfully.
Some NPCs are competent craftsmen, but who knows... some people rise up the ranks by bringing people their coffee (Kathleen Kennedy became CEO of Lucas Films doing that).
Metal music, gore, and edgy characters, were all the rage in the 2000s.
From "Twisted Metal" (2001) to "Ninja Gaiden" (2004), from "Yakuza" (2005) to "Dead Rising" (2006).
Fuck, going over the list, all the 3D GTA games came out same time as well.
2001 to 2004 saw the release of GTA 3, Vice City, and 4!
GTA 5 was a bit of an anomaly taking so long to release (2013).
@coded_artist that's a good point actually
@beardalaxy
Decades of living in a complete financial security does change you.
At one point, I just realized, that when I grew up in gheto, I had a meeting with gipsies about once per month? Not too much, but it was a fact of life. But, when I moved... they're gone. I have not have any negative meeting like that for years. And it is unironically starting to fuck with my brain, knowing that the memories are real, even though, they no longer seem like the same reality.
