@BlinkRape that's what Pathfinder is right now, unfortunately with the leaked Open Game License (OGL) it's possible that they will have to change stuff around so as to not have Wizards of the Coast be able to just rip shit from their game or charge them a large fee, because Paizo (Pathfinder creator) does in fact use the current version of the OGL. Pathfinder is still a little infested by woke stuff, but not nearly as much as D&D is. The shitty thing is that I can only see people going from D&D to Pathfinder because of this whole OGL debacle and trying to make the game worse with it just having the same issues eventually.

There are plenty of other RPGs out there for people to play though, and those will all certainly see a rise in popularity. Personally, I'm working on my own system to use going forward after my current campaign wraps up. That's something one of my friend's isn't that big of a fan of, since he really likes D&D, but he'll likely be long gone by the time I run another campaign anyway lmao.

One D&D is going to change "races" to "species" while also making it possible for more halflings to exist. That's entirely illogical. It's harder for creatures of different species to produce offspring, if not impossible, whereas different races should have no problem. Beforehand, the species was "humanoid."

Maybe because "races" is better off being the difference between a black human and a white human, or a green dragonborn and a blue dragonborn, but that seems like it goes in the opposite direction of their intention. Very strange to just stop calling humans "the human race" that consists of all sorts of variety, and swap it to species which implies the existence of races within those species being different.

You see this sort of thing all the time with politically correct changes, though. For instance.... Where did all of the dark-skinned people go between Rings of Power and The Hobbit? They must have either left Middle Earth entirely or been wiped out. It's a major plot hole introduced to make sure everyone feels included. Or, an even better example, the whole "orcs are black people" meme. Nobody actually thought that. Orcs were just orcs, a fantasy race, but this immature insistence that fantasy must always reflect reality really gets people's heads twisted.

@riserise when I was a teenager living at home I wouldn't go on vacation with my family. I'd stay home alone instead. Rather than being stressed out alongside everyone else, I got a vacation away from everyone and got to just decompress alone.

@fluffy at this point I can usually tell if I'm going to like a game or not just by looking at some gameplay and how long it takes to beat it.

@fluffy in this case, I would definitely go easy the first time. Play how any Joe schmo would. Still beat her, but don't use any advanced tech.

Thinking in terms of like, Mario Kart, since I know that more than chess, I'd probably not just immediately jump to 200cc and kick her ass. Unless she was shit talking and saying she would definitely beat me. Put it on 100cc and tell her to use the steering assist or something.

I'm trying, I'm really trying, to get my body in the habit of going to bed earlier because I have all morning shifts this month, but I keep waking up several hours before my alarm and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be in for a bad time come Tuesday.

@Zerglingman @matrix OMG I GOT THIS CUTIE PREGNANT WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN

>she's just missing from school for like 3 days

@Jazzy_Butts I've wondered about doing fedi D&D but idk how well it would work. Even with people I know irl, playing over the internet usually puts things in shambles with players having weird audio/internet issues, and it makes it harder for them to feel integrated with the rest of the party. It makes it easier for a lot of players to make ridiculously dumb decisions too, since they don't have the subconscious social pressure of sitting in a room with someone who will visibly show unease/disappointment.

I can imagine that the reason for a lot of online-only DMs charging money is to keep everyone honest in having a good game, but I wouldn't really want people paying me, either, because it sets a certain expectation for the DM to be exceptionally good at what they do and I'm not quite there yet, especially playing online.

I can't remember who, but someone was suggesting creating a custom PSO BB server for fedi, that would be kind of cool.

bad apple but it's on an ad before a youtube video to post a small portion of it here or save it to my memes folder, i have to get better at the game.

I don't trash talk in games, at all. It's never been my thing. Even when I play against other people, my mindset is more that I'm playing against myself and proving that I'm doing better, so when I beat someone I feel accomplished and that's good enough.

That being said, though, I really don't mind when people do it. It gives me a bit of fuel to try harder. You gotta shift your perspective instead of letting it get to you.
