@LordMordred if you had these plugged in at max volume you could pick up radio disney
@Pawlicker @Mr_NutterButter i don't think i even know if that's the case. there are waaaaay more problems with the game than just the engine. if this game was in unreal and you could fly planet to planet and there were more randomly generated structures to explore, yeah it would be better, but it wouldn't solve fundamental design decisions that plague it. it's not like they'd spend any more time fixing up bugs if it was in a different engine, you know? it's not like the story would get any better, or the variety of *anything*.
plus, people are still doing crazy things with skyrim's iteration of the creation engine that bethesda just chooses not to do. idk if you've seen skyblivion or not, but it's a remake of oblivion in skyrim and the amount of passion going into it is crazy. it's not even just a remake of oblivion at this point, it's a functional overhaul with a lot of attention to detail. and it actually looks really great too, graphically. same thing with fallout london, they're doing insane work at a much faster pace and with much more soul.
if bethesda can't make shit like this on an updated version of their engine over a decade later, what good are they as a studio? quite frankly they should be dissolved and their IPs should be handed to someone else because i don't know how much of their culture can be salvaged at this point.
i think bethesda probably suffers from a lack of good management as well as, though i hate to say it, a lack of good talent. those things go hand in hand too.
@Mr_NutterButter that's not rumored, that's straight from the modders themselves lol. many aren't modding it because they just don't like the game, some aren't modding it because what they want to do is literally impossible because of engine limitations.
@jeff it says in the faq you need 8gb of VRAM and 26GB RAM. maybe that's like, minimum spec for it though. what model are you using?
@jeff looks like i need to download more RAM to use Mixtral...
i was thinking about buying more RAM recently actually, just two more 8gb sticks, but unfortunately my CPU heatsink is super beefy and it covers one of my RAM slots just a liiiiittle too much ;_; I might be able to get away with removing the shield from the RAM but idk if it's worth it.... might have to just get 2x16 instead and just replace them.
@jeff haven't seen this before but i'm sold already
@tori i feel ya here. i've noticed though that my friends that are right-leaning tend to actually be more open/accepting of values i have that they don't. i don't have many left-leaning friends left because they've seen one or two things over the years i've aligned with that they didn't and thought i was evil or something. which is really unfortunate, because i'm sure we agree on more than we disagree on or that there is at least some nuance/misunderstanding there, and even then we still had some good times before any of that cropped up. people just kinda suck.
