@Hoss that's the thing, these people worked 80 hours a week for something they believed in and they saw a future for. Something they could be proud of. They did that willingly. Nobody wants to work 80 hours a week building somebody else's kingdom just so they can have a bit of a fancier house that they only sleep in and nothing else.

Honestly I wouldn't be nearly as proficient or interested in English if it weren't for video games like Animal Crossing with a shit ton of text. I know a lot of people learn other languages from video games too. My brother would always play games with French audio and English subs and that helped him excel in French. I know a lot of language classes actually require a certain amount of media consumption in that language per week, too.
