@Yokappa hey man if the plan is something you love doing absolutely more power to ya, that would be great

@bebe @Elliptica @LittleTom unfortunately that's not how it is in the remake, they kind of butchered that. I loosely followed what you do in the original game to get Leave and still got In Water which was really disappointing because I hate that ending.

@Vidmastereon @Immahnoob @Tamamo it seems like the opposite in this game tbh. They didn't put enough thought in the gameplay for you to REALLY want to play the game again to get more of the story. You have to already be really into the story to keep going with it so if it doesn't vibe with you, you aren't doing it again for the gameplay.

@Elliptica @LittleTom it's definitely a fake out ending on the first playthrough. The main themes of the game are present in every playthrough though and I liked that aspect. You don't actually get the true ending until your 3rd playthrough lol so yeah it is a little bit much to be honest.

@Tamamo @Immahnoob @Vidmastereon the combat is like, okay. Nothing crazy. The story has a "feminist" bend to it if you're really current day minded but I connected with it on more of a level of experiencing societal expectations that are tearing you apart.

@LittleTom @Elliptica I just watched the cutscenes and I'll be doing another playthrough soon, but I was able to mostly piece it together through those alone tbh. The journal entries I'm guessing just add a lot of context and cement things.

@Immahnoob @Vidmastereon tiny review: the art direction, soundtrack, atmosphere, setting, and story were all enjoyable to me. the combat was serviceable enough. some puzzles were pretty good but most of them were really easy and samey. the camera was frustrating to deal with. the game had some bad tech issues.

@Immahnoob @Vidmastereon there are lots of games that i don't get how people can like that are still really popular lol.

there are some bad things about the game, but i thought it was pretty good overall. it's NOT silent hill though that's for sure.

@Elliptica @LittleTom yeah it'll probably work for some people and not for others, I can tell. If I got In Water for my first SH2 ending I probably wouldn't have been that interested in playing it again either lol so I get it.

@Kyonko802 yes, the best and true ending is a lot of reconciliation and respect. kinda based.

@Vidmastereon one could probably call it parryslop, yeah lol. i don't think it is feminist propaganda though. if it is, it's done a horrible job at it. i actually felt that the main character was quite relatable. different specific situation she's in, but under the same broad umbrella of societal expectation in the midst of growing up. not only that, but society evolving while trying to navigate that at the same time.

i bet a lot of people complaining about it haven't played the game and never will. they'll just get their opinion from grok or some other dude online.

spoiler alert

@bronze @supersid333 @LittleTom MC is getting an arranged marriage with a nobleman she helped out as a kid that has been enamored with her ever since and goes on a really fucking crazy drug trip where she battles against herself to figure out if she actually wants to marry this guy and in the end he lets her take some time to decide as well as himself instead of them jumping into an arranged marriage to test if he actually loves her or not.

there is tons more to it than that but that's the basic gist.

@chainsaw_appreciator @LittleTom silent hill has sucked since 4 and it hasn't even been silent hill with this new wave lmao

@Elliptica @LittleTom you have to at least watch the other endings, it makes a lot more sense if you do so. apparently there is a lot more story given in NG+ as well. i understand the plot pretty well. whether it is a good plot or not is up for debate.
