@King_Noticer i'm sorry but i am going to think of him every time i hear "blink" for the rest of my life, i have blinkrape brainrot
@LukeAlmighty @coded_artist first of all i didn't ask the question with anger lol, i was legitimately wondering why this might be seen as a bad thing and you just come in swinging with "it's not, but women should have their rights taken away!"
i'm not mad i'm just confused as fuck as to why you're changing the subject to that. it reads as if you are saying that we shouldn't give women this ability because they don't deserve it or something.
@LukeAlmighty @coded_artist okay so you're taking something good and nice and just doomposting about it basically
@LukeAlmighty @coded_artist literally what does that have to do with giving women who were born without uteruses the ability to have children? what difference does it make if a woman has rights or not in this scenario? do you think that a woman without a uterus is a strawman.....? because that's literally what the OP is about.
@mischievoustomato @coded_artist @LukeAlmighty somehow that doesn't surprise me in the slightest
@LukeAlmighty @coded_artist imagine you have a wife who is infertile but has the ability to have children because of a womb transplant. i'd be over the moon dude.
@LukeAlmighty @coded_artist you do realize that if a woman wants to have a kid without a family she can just apply to get impregnated from a sperm bank, right? something like a uterus transplant helps women who are completely infertile because they don't have one to begin with.
@coded_artist nobody is going to illegally harvest wombs for the black market. you have to first realize why the black market for organs exists to begin with, and that's for life saving organs like lung/heart/liver/kidney when they can't be obtained quickly through legit channels. nobody is going to go to the black market for a uterus because their life isn't in danger. the amount of people born without a uterus is incredibly small as well, compared to people dying of organ failure.
then of course you have the fact that this is pretty much brand new tech, that requires a bunch of other brand new tech to work correctly, and needs high compatibility. no point in a black market for that. maybe one day if it becomes way easier and accessible, but for now i don't think the black market is a worry for a womb transplant.
@Herman_Hetherington @coded_artist i think there is a future where people will be able to functionally transition to the opposite gender and, other than outlawing that, there is no possible way we will prevent it. it won't even be with dead people's body parts or anything, it'll all be synthetic and artificial. there will be literal test tube babies at some point in the future, i'm sure of it. are we really going to classify them as sub human because of that? interesting times ahead, even if we don't live to see them.
regardless, i don't see that as being a reason we should deny infertile women who WANT to have kids a potential way to do so. it is actually amazing that this is possible. having a kid is life changing and it's great that she and her husband can experience that.
also, the woman who received the transplant was not 40 she was in her early 30s. it's not a whole reproductive system replacement it's just the uterus for a specific disorder where women are born without one.
mainly post about music and games, and share art from artists i like.
obviously i don't condone any sort of abuse/exploitation irl, go fuck yourself.
