@alyx @icedquinn @Awoo mandarins are so much easier to eat than oranges are. i have to do surgery to get an orange to an acceptable point of eating but all i have to do with a mandarin is peel it as if it were a banana.

i've made an absolute abomination of a stage in neodash and now i have to complete it in order to upload it.

i'm getting so close but my sanity is wearing thin xD it is 100% doable, it's just a long course and if you die you have to start from the beginning.

it's heavily based on mario kart wii's rainbow road. except imagine that it's in f-zero and instead of retiring once you lose all your energy, you retire if you fuck up one time.

@MK2boogaloo i can play drums a little bit because i was on marching band senior year on the drum line and i've got a lot of plastic rock band drums under my belt, which translates to real drums waaaaay more than the plastic guitar does. keeping the rhythm consistent, especially without a click track, though, is hell, and i suck at using the correct velocity instead of just going ham (marching band status) so i get tired pretty quickly and the drums don't sound as refined as they could. slow songs and simple drum parts only for me.

i can play guitar better than i can play drums, but i had guitar lessons in middle school at the school and my old guitar came from my grandma. i never learned how to do stuff beyond simple finger picking and chords though, because electric guitars are way easier to play than acoustic guitars due to their lower action, finer strings, and smaller body. i play ukulele for those 3 reasons lol, also it's got less strings so it's easier to focus on singing and i can learn more songs faster which is perfect for my work.

@MK2boogaloo because playing guitar is a FUCK LOAD cheaper. the kick drum itself can be hundreds of dollars. even the skeletons without the actual drum pads are like $500-$700 for a decent sized kit. drums are also very loud with very few ways to turn them down, whereas a guitar can be just as easily plugged into a pair of headphones to practice with.

electronic kits have helped solve both of those issues a little bit, but you're still looking at $300 minimum.

if you're starting off playing guitar, there are plenty of great, cheap options between the $100-$200 range, or since they're such a common instrument you can find them secondhand much easier, or even have someone in your family let you use theirs. same goes for amps, especially beginner ones can be as little as $50.

then there's the problem of there not being a lot of drum teachers out there compared to guitar teachers, so you'll be paying more for lessons. most of the people i know who play drums either have a parent who plays drums or they were able to practice them for free somewhere, like in school or church.

@MK2boogaloo it's a different beast entirely. musical skills can transfer from piano to guitar to tuba to whatever else, but percussion instruments are in a realm of their own, especially drums. it's much more about the rhythm and you have to be super tight to guide the rest of the band. not to mention you're not just using your fingers but practically your entire body to play the instrument. both hands and both feet, depending on the kit you're sometimes swapping the location of your feet too which gets even more complicated.

nice gesture, but the dude probably heard 1% of what i said about it and assumed it was a tiny figurine that got broken in shipping xD when in fact she is a 1/8 (or 1/12 i can't fucking remember) scale model that shipped in pieces for me to put together. and it's been put together in my room for at least a month now xD

@RehnSturm256 @Terry @retarded @johnnyappleseed i will say that it's a bit weird that the user has only posted since july 30th of this year despite having an account since 2020, but idk lurkers exist too. i know there are plenty of accounts on gameliberty that have been around for at least a year and never posted a single thing.

either someone playing the uber long game before anybody even knew who keffals was (therefore their goal may have always been to get kiwifarms deplatformed and wait for a prime moment to strike or something) or a lurker who found this drama spicy enough to get into and finally start posting.

i'll let you decide which is more realistic :P
