@rlier23 @theorytoe best Hololive cover?
Gawr Gura's cover of The Last Stand.
@PinochetsCommieCopter the music in this goes hard lmao
The nigger needing to pull his pants up at the end too ![]()
@picandor the 6 do the 60 ![]()
@xianc78 I like owls
maybe I could incorporate that somehow.
@pettanko yeah i don't think sexy female characters in games is bad at all lmao.
she's definitely got a lot more going for her than just that, though. nothing like katt, who is quite literally just "marilyn monroe's sex appeal" the character. nobody picks on katt because she's not popular.
@xianc78 it does sound a little bit generic, but it doesn't seem like it has already been taken. there are a few games called After Midnight, though.
useless torch also just sounds a bit weird to me, i thought at the time it was just kind of funny. i also didn't even come up with it, my friend did, who isn't really into the whole game dev thing anymore. every time i hear it i can't get the picture of a broken flashlight out of my head, but i'm not even british xD
i was trying to find something that really described me a bit more, and given how often i'm up after midnight i thought it was a fitting name. i also like Blink 182 and they have a song called After Midnight i like xD
@justnormalkorean fair enough lol. i grew up with star fox 64 and that changed the course of my entire life probably xD
@Arkana @MCMLXVIIOTG @Wormwood @justnormalkorean i played the demo/beta/whatever for MH world. it was fun for a little bit, i just don't think games with that sort of combat style appeal to me very much. i like to go fast and eat ass xD i like hack and slash games way more, that focus on fast movement and clicking a button tends to immediately result in your character doing something on screen with a snappy animation and all of that.
i played Lies of P up until a little bit after the first boss, just to see what it was like. i can't tell you how many times i pressed a button and my crack brain didn't see something happen on the screen immediately, so i pressed it again which resulted in me doing the action twice and getting me killed or hurt xD
i can understand the appeal of wanting a sort of realistic way of depicting attack and movement wind-ups and using stamina for everything and all that jazz, it's just not my cup of tea. it ends up just feeling a little clunky to me, as someone who mostly plays games where you are going really fast.
@justnormalkorean krystal from star fox
@Arkana @MCMLXVIIOTG @Wormwood @justnormalkorean the dark souls map is a bit clusterfucky and this is exactly why metroid prime has a rotatable 3d map lol. i get the hardcore nature of it though.
personally i don't like dark souls or any soulslike games for that matter because every action feels laggy. i like my games to be fast and snappy and i don't want to adjust to something so slow just to play a game i don't care that much about. and that's before you take into consideration actual input lag or performance issues.
@snow_huwhite just makes me think of bloodborne for whatever reason
i've been thinking about maybe changing the name of my "game studio" before the beta of my game is ready. at that point it will be solidified permanently, basically, and i'm not so sure i like the name of Useless Torch.
i think part of it is because Useless Torch was supposed to be a combination of all my friends getting together and working on stuff, but since its inception everyone has gone seperate ways and i can't see them really working for/with me in the future. so i kind of want to move away from that name and have something that refers to just me working alone with freelancers to fill in the gaps.
i've been thinking about using the name "After Midnight" recently. have a sort of logo design in mind for it too. if there is any time i'm going to change my studio name it'll be now, because i don't want people to get confused if i change it after it has been proliferated more.
what do you guys think?
