i'm always like 5 seconds away from never playing another new video game ever again. they're just getting more and more shitty. it's not even nostalgia talking because i can go back and play old games i've never played before and find them way more fun than the new slop that comes out. even if it is extremely refined slop, there's still something missing. even something like baldur's gate 3 which was by all accounts an amazing game did absolutely nothing to hook me beyond the 4 hours i played.
half life, FEAR, and portal are games i have played within the last couple of years i hadn't before. they are absolute gems that are still better than the vast majority of shit that's come out in the past decade.
@hellhammer666 i wish one of my favorite games wasn't made by them. you can't exactly pirate an online game.
@SpurgAnon as in, without a switch? not right now. apparently the guys behind the MIG thing are working on it.
@LukeAlmighty @ChristiJunior yeah it's definitely Joel. You can tell rocksteady kills batman for fun or to be edgy or something, meanwhile Neil cuckmann actually hates Joel and is ideologically opposed to him. Batman's death is stupid and like kindergarten level shit, but Joel's is actively malicious.
Doesn't make any sense either, dude saves you from being eaten by zombies and gets you back to your group safely, and then you find out his name is Joel so THIS MUST BE THE GUY and you kill him.
It seems to be a trend in games lately that the characters are written in a way where you have to suspend all disbelief otherwise they feel like they were intentionally written to be dumb/evil. That kind of thing is all over the place in Tears of the Kingdom too. They hope that the larger narrative will be more impactful than how the characters affect it, without realizing that the reason the narratives were so impactful in the first place was because of the characters.
@RoboftheVolcano that looks like a sims city
@berkberkman @icedquinn I'd much rather just have something external like a cute hologram wife
@greentext move in with me duh
@Pawlicker @xianc78 damn that's wild, we have really nice community recreation centers everywhere and it's like $150 for a year or you can pay I think $10 for a one time thing.
@icedquinn this technology really intrigues me but I'm so worried about something going wrong or getting hacked or something
@PonyPanda it's not even february
@Rudolf_von_Goldenbaum this has happened to me several times. I don't trauma dump or anything, they insist I talk to them about how I'm feeling and stuff then I never hear from them again.
@kaia Allahu Akbar
