@lain i'm assuming that anyone calling themselves "latinx" probably doesn't though

slept like shit last night because i kept dreaming of things i needed to fix in my game, waking up to think about a solution to them, and then going back to bed only for that solution to not work in my dream :CirnoForReals:

@susie @justnormalkorean maybe part of why it's taking so long is that they're trying to get a DRM solution like denuvo working while still letting players mod the game. or perhaps there are more online components that implicate multiple users and they're trying to figure out how to get mods working in that capacity.

i don't think ANYONE plays vanilla sims unless they're on console, if they launched sims 5 without mod support they'd be cooked instantly.

@BlinkRape yup, workin on it!

and actually, it might not be as bad as i thought in terms of testing again. the way i set up the enemies makes it so i can just apply a percentage increase across the board and it should be good :) still gonna test again though xD

@BlinkRape and we're already on to something! i didn't catch this since i have been way more focused on testing quests and NPCs and making sure battles can be beaten, but it appears that the EXP earned actually isn't cleared. it stacks infinitely.

that's... troubling. i'm going to have to test the entire game again and rebalance a lot of stuff. but i'm glad i found this issue now instead of when more people got their hands on it, which is exactly why i'm testing it myself first.

@BlinkRape i am consulting the wizards of the rpg maker forums now so hopefully one of them can come up with something lol. i've seen guys just take one look at a plugin and find the issue immediately. i got a response in like 3 minutes once that worked perfectly xD

given that i didn't make the plugin, it would probably be harder for me to debug anyway. when i'm debugging stuff with the code i've done, i can usually figure it out pretty easily because it's mostly just me swapping things around or missing a letter in a word or something. but if a plugin from someone else just isn't working in a super edge case scenario that i only got to with weird game design, i'm a bit more at a loss lol.

i've got a few other options if this doesn't work, but i'd rather not use them since they all compromise my game design in some way. it's not like i haven't had to make changes like that already, though, so i'm sure i'd be able to make it work.

@BlinkRape absoooolutely not and i don't know how xD rpg maker does have a debug tool, but unless you manually tell it to add stuff to the debugger it usually doesn't. so the plugin that i'm having the issue with doesn't do that.

@justnormalkorean oh boy if they think that's excessive or extreme wait until they see my mod list :meru_wall:

the news about EA potentially banning people for sims mods came around a couple years ago i think. it was heavily suggested by everyone that you should be playing your game offline if you didn't want your account banned.

i've bought a fair amount of sims stuff, probably about $100 worth all said and done. i do not feel bad in the slightest for pirating everything else, especially when newer releases lack in substance for the price (you STILL can't have cars for your sims in sims 4 even if they're only going to be displayed for small animations and decoration).

I modded flag football in real life. We play naked and everyone is getting their dicks ripped off.

@matrix i feel really sorry for the people who used this. even before the leak happened.
