Better than olive and sausage. Mushrooms are pretty good on pizza too, not enough people like getting shroom za either.

@jeff I didn't think that's where it originated, I thought it was just things getting shittier and that applying to several reasons why. At least, that's how people seem to use it.

@tomie the charm with the old voices is that they were just regular ass people doing VA. If anything they had done some work for like commercials and that's it. On top of that, they were directed to sound a little bit... Off. All the new voices that have been added to sh2 both in this and HD sound a lot more like professional VAs trying to "sell" the acting, whereas the original sounds uncannily plain.

@triodug I've learned over the years that it is sometimes better to let things die and just enjoy what's already there.

So, just watched the new Silent Hill 2 Remake trailer. Already thought the game was going to bad but I didn't expect it to be THIS bad. Original on the right.

Doesn't surprise me that they hired a consultancy company for this. The only consultance they should have had was the original game itself.

And it's not just this either. The character animations are weird and stiff and not in the good way like in SH2. The voice acting is retreading the same thing that sucked about the HD version, where it sounds way too manufactured and "Hollywood." There is still a weird focus on combat. Angela screams out "tell him I'll be good I promise" which was not a line in the original game and confirmation that Bloober is changing things and that's going to upset the balance of how this game was handled. It seems like extremely amateur writing that is going to be shoving things in the player's face. There's your "modern audience" I guess.

Just like the last two SH2 games ("game" in the case of Ascension), this stuff all makes Downpour and Homecoming look god-tier in comparison.

@riserise I won't have a solid release date until everything is done. I probably won't release it around holiday time though since that is super saturated. Maybe a little after like jan/Feb but again no promises until the game is done.

@tomie oh man I just watched the new trailer HOLY SHIT IT'S WORSE THAN I THOUGHT. Angela looks and sounds like straight 👏🏻 ass 👏🏻 the character animation is dogshit and James doesn't sound great either. And this is the first confirmation that we have of bloober *not* staying faithful to the original because they have added IN SHITTY dialogue: "please tell him I'll be good!" FUCK OFFFFFF
