Open world game = lots of bugs. Loooots of bugs. I think by now I've easily fixed 200+ since "finishing" my game. Anything from a graphic being 1 pixel off to boss battles being skipped. I'm sure there are plenty more, too. I'm never making a game like this again xD it's way too massive with so many moving parts. Makes it really cool when it works but it's so hard to find stuff that doesn't work. It depends not only on what you do but when you do it.

@Mr_NutterButter playing console minecraft was always more fun to me, much more simple back then. it's definitely needlessly bloated now, especially because i don't think enough stuff to do has been added to warrant all the random crap they have added. i get that minecraft is supposed to be a sandbox game, but there was still a goal to get to the end and defeat the ender dragon and there was a clear method of progression to get there.

i think the best way for them to make it more exciting would be to have another dimension that requires you to actually do all the stuff they have added since the end. or most of it, at least. something that's a lot harder than the end and you have to get a whole slew of items to make the portal that goes there, and you'll want plenty of enchanted netherite items to fight your way through.

you'd probably have to have some reward for beating that though, and i'm not sure what that would be. you already get elytras from the end. what's more powerful in minecraft than the ability to fly that also won't take away the fun from the core gameplay loop, you know?

they are in a pretty tough spot. you can't just fill the game with random shit forever but making that random shit actually mean something is a task in of itself. the game was definitely better when it was just way more simple. when diamond was the best it got and you felt pretty satisfied once you were able to beat the ender dragon.

it's probably best for the game that they just mercy kill it at this point, but as long as it continues to print money they'll never do that. i think it needs a massive overhaul, and to be honest i think something along the lines of hytale could be something to aim for. though, that could be seen by some as minecraft losing its identity. whether that identity is actually good or not is up for debate.

hopefully hytale comes out at some point soon so a lot of people who want more of a game from minecraft can hop over to it.

@LukeAlmighty idk i think that's reading too far into it. if the story happened isolated and she's actually giving an accurate retelling of it i don't think it's that bad and he's overreacting.

@MK2boogaloo in the past two years, i've managed to get all of us together a total of one time! normally it's in random pieces.

in about 10 hours i'm hangin with 3 of them, and that's like the "core" group so that'll be good at least!

@MK2boogaloo two friends who are reclusive gamers who will literally not doing anything else (other than work) unless their girlfriends drag them along. two friends who are the successful family men who ignore all texts. thankfully the last guy isn't in outpatient rehab but he still lives at home with his parents when he's not going to school out of state during the winter/spring and doesn't know what he's even there for. he's been talking about becoming a glowie for the past like decade.
