game is good. just not as good as the original. there are things keeping it from being a great game by its own merit, and there are things that they changed from the original that just prove that they don't really know why it was that way to begin with. but, it's good, and better than i expected it to be.

if i could skip the entire section with maria i think the game would jump up to an 8.5 but i've got it at an 8 right now. about halfway through. if any of you have played evil within 2 i'd say it's about on par with that game quality-wise if we're leaving the fact that it's a remake out of the equation.

@deprecated_ii that line of thinking is so crazy to me and it is the exact same way so many corporate suits think too. they only want what is going to be the cheapest option that will get them the most money in the here and now. when it comes time to make another $150m plane, it would have been better to spend the money on bringing one back instead. they don't have any foresight.

and that's just talking about the money aspect. of course... the US has practically manufactured the entirety of war in the middle east with how much shit we've left over there.

@Mr_NutterButter it had insane marketing. tons of people went to see it. then they only saw it once and that was it. it's not really that remarkable except from perhaps the standpoint of visual fidelity. it's the equivalent of like, using a CRT your entire life and then one day you walk into Target and they have all the flat screen panels on display. you just sit there for like 5 minutes looking at how nice it looks and then that's about it.

most of the people i know who have fall out boy as their favorite band only really listen to their stuff from "save rock and roll" onward. kinda sucks, because infinity on high and from under the cork tree are AMAZING albums. i love that old fall out boy sound so much more. save rock and roll is still pretty good too, but basically everything after that i don't care for. after that it almost sounds like they had a bastard child with weezer and that was the outcome.
