@SuperSnekFriend yeah i don't know where she pulled that from but when someone references "that one GIF" there's only one thing it could possibly be.

maybe that popped into her head because it's this contraption with a little chibi character running around.

Gura: "this looks like that GIF that everybody sees once in their lifetime and then you can never unsee ever again."

NOOOOOO

rant

@Mr_NutterButter literally all they have to do is make new cool levels and progress a story forward in a compelling way with some sweet set pieces. they could honestly delegate it to more of a AA endeavor. not everything has to be so massive. in fact that's partially why the game industry is failing. nintendo plays it really safe so they aren't going anywhere, but that's also part of the nintendo problem.

i honestly don't think that nintendo is dumb enough to the point where they can't think of new ideas to incorporate into f-zero and star fox. i think they want to make things that are much grander and require a bigger budget, but f-zero and star fox are a bit more niche franchises so they're worried about their profit margins or whatever.

f-zero could incorporate flight or transforming vehicles, but maybe they think that's too close to mario kart. who gives a fuck if it's fun though? now nintendo has kind of missed their opportunity at this point and 3 other games have come out that incorporate a bunch of stuff they could have with f-zero a long time ago. fast rmx has color shifting. aero gpx has flight. xf extreme formula has alternate vehicle types and a super unique boost system that prioritizes speed.

star fox doesn't have to be anything crazy in the gameplay department. it's totally okay for a game to remain samey as long as it's good. there is a reason why everyone continues to sing the praises of star fox 64 nearly 30 years later. it's peak star fox, and nintendo knows that which is why they keep chasing it, but unfortunately they aren't chasing the gameplay... just the story beats.

@LukeAlmighty @Mr_NutterButter metroid other m was in 2010
then you had a 7 year gap until metroid 2 remake. then another 4 until dread, 2 until mp1 remaster, hopefully mp4 this year. so that's a decent time between mainline games but overall not too shabby.

star fox zero came out in 2016. bone dry ever since. break's metroid's absent spell. 9 years. on top of that, star fox zero was both a rehash of 64 and a

none are as bad as f-zero though. f-zero's last game was in 2004. and no, f-zero 99 does not count.

@LukeAlmighty @Mr_NutterButter >nintendo truly understands how to keep a franchise alive
>all we got from sam fisher in the past 10 years were 2 cameos

MiSide spoiler

😭 this is why creepy little girls in horror never scare me because they have always had something bad happen to them and it always makes me feel sad 😭 i wanna give her a big hug.

@LukeAlmighty I thought it was pretty common knowledge that these sorts of things don't really get cured. The idea is to give you the tools to deal with them. Whether or not therapists actually do that in a healthy way or not is up for debate. I think that therapy is often something that pushes people into something more like complacency than actually working towards bettering themselves. Someone like a life coach does a much better job with that but they're also a lot more dedicated.

These days, I would expect the number of "cures" to be higher though, because a lot of people go to the therapist when they're in a rough patch and need someone to talk to. Therapy is a lot more common. In 2006, it's more likely that you were only in therapy because you really did have a permanent mental illness. Just my guess.

@pernia @theorytoe yeah spooky but also a really cool premise, you're like trapped in a video game world and it gets real weird

the richest man in the world pays someone to play games for him to build up his accounts and then pretends he's an elite gamer

She might be spooky but all she wants it's play games and being loved :blobmeltsoblove:
