@egirlyuumimain @rlier23 there was a 13 year old (?) kid who got banned from a pokemon tcg tournament that he had saved up prize money from locals to go to, and was going up against a top player on stream. his offense? snickering when asked for his pronouns.

they kicked him out of the venue immediately and his roommate was mid-match with the key so he had to just wait outside of the hotel room in the hallway. they did that to a kid. super fucked up.

thankfully he put up a gofundme to get the funds back and i believe made more money than he would have if he won the tournament so that's a little bit of consolation at least.

then he apologized PROFUSELY and wanted so much to just come back to the community that he had poured so much of his life into but nobody gave a shit minus a few people here and there. the only time he got to play any melee was in latin/south america because the TOs there welcomed him with open arms, unlike the ones in the states.

he really was done dirty.

he had to be rushed to the hospital because that got infected or something along those lines, but the actual cause of death isn't confirmed. his mother said he died of a broken heart.

@alyx @LukeAlmighty my roommate was pining for the middle ages where a peasant would just work at his farm and then have a wife and a child he goes back to and doesn't have to do anything for like half the year.

i had to explain to him that, although we spend more time working than an average peasant did, our potential is at least 100x higher. you just have to utilize that potential because if you don't, then you're just a shitty peasant. our time is not the same as any other time so it's best to think about what you can do now rather than what you can't.

@justnormalkorean maybe if this dumbass would just tell his friends he doesn't want to talk politics when he hangs out with them instead of complaining on reddit there wouldn't be an issue
