@Netoraremancer fixed it. apparently i copied a file over from the web version that used a different file path than the desktop version so it broke absolutely everything. but yeah, working now. won't make that mistake again :CirnoForReals:

@bleedingphoenix web version is fine because i apparently copied a file from the web version over to the desktop version like a retard, so the desktop version stopped working.

basically a file path was using the wrong location because they are different between the web and desktop versions. which i knew... somewhere deep down.

i'm updating the desktop versions now though, we're all good. thanks for checking!

@Netoraremancer fuuuccckkk okay at least I know that it doesn't launch on either and I didn't just like upload the wrong version or something. Thank you.

God's Disdain is not able to be launched right now :ohno: something must have been fucked up in the update package but I'm not home so I can't fix it. I'll look into it but it'll take a few hours.

In the meantime, can anyone with Linux test it out real quick? That would help me nail down the issue much faster.

@Hephaestic in any regard, i'm grateful you're willing to send some cash my way for it. i put tons of time into it and not only myself, but other people too.

if you do get around to playing it at some point i'd like to hear your thoughts!

@Hephaestic yeah, it's a niche within a niche within a niche. that's partially why i made it free lol. it's a game you kind of have to work for to get into, and i respect people's time in that regard. time is money, etc. my own personal playthrough trying to go through everything naturally was about 20 hours iirc. honestly on the shorter side for a JRPG but still a longer game.

next game is a shorter horror game (aiming for maybe 5-6 hours). still in rpg maker but i understand those are the most popular games made in rpg maker for a good reason. after that i'm thinking of doing a tactics rpg with a linear narrative that is modified by character death. that one will be on the longer side too but not as long as stuff like FF tactics or fire emblem. aiming for 20 hours on that one too.
