Alright, had yet another load screen and I went through a ledge when trying to recover which killed me in a last stock, last game scenario. This game has good stuff going for it but it kind of feels like it is held together with glue. The anti-aliasing seems to just not work as well lol.
Also Mr. Krabs, the only DLC character as of right now, is pretty damn good, everyone is playing him, and he costs $7. For one character, that's way too expensive. Ultimate will give you a character, a unique stage, and a bunch of music from their game for $6. This game is not anywhere near the quality of Ultimate.
Oh man I was destroying this guy, he quit right when the results screen was about to pop up and now my game is in an infinite load screen. Yeah not paying $25 for this shit xD
I played one unranked game and it was some kid without the knowledge to shield or recover, I feel so bad man ![]()
actually, gotta admit. it's really fun. still a bit janky, but they fixed a lot of my issues. if i wasn't poor right now i might actually pick it up lol. problem is i know i'm gonna drop it right when i can start playing rivals 2.
Ghostrunner 2 Review
Awesome game. I see lots of people complaining about the open world bike section but I honestly thought it was pretty fun. I do like racing games though so that might affect my viewpoint on it. The inclusion of the bike in general was sweet. I do wish you had more time to spend with the final upgrade and that it persisted into the Hardcore mode, but I can understand that it might break some things. Still, it would have been a fun inclusion.
The story is pretty good, characters are decent, gameplay is awesome as ever. It is unfortunate that it stutters so much due to what I can only assume is lingering shader compilation and traversal stutters, even though the game compiles them whenever you launch it. There were a few times it did get me killed. Luckily the game is fast enough that it doesn't matter a whole lot. Just reset after death to a few seconds ago and no more stuttering for that part.
If you liked the first game, you'll definitely enjoy this one. I thought it was about on-par with the original and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I can imagine that some people may like it more or less, but that's typically how sequels go anyway.
There is one issue with the keybinding... I really wish I could scroll through the Shuriken, Ghost, and Tempest abilities with the mouse wheel instead of clicking 1/2/3. It would certainly make things easier in combat and in platforming.
Well-paced game, took about 10 hours for me to beat it. Lots of fast combat and platforming where, even if you die (and you will a lot), you are always able to get right back into the action.
As crazy as video generation is, remember that digital forensics exist. As far as I can think of, we may have been seeing a couple of AI images with the Palestinian conflict stuff but tools were able to tell it was fabricated relatively well. Other than that, I don't think there have been any instances of people using AI to try and pass off fake stuff as real. Honestly, why would they need to do that in the first place? There are usually easier ways that someone, especially people in power, can convince anyone of anything and they have been doing it for a very long time. In this regard, I think the status quo will likely remain unchanged.
As we saw and continue to see with image, voice, and text generation, the implications of video generation are mainly for things like memes and farming clicks for ad revenue. Which does include really shitty children's entertainment. Good for a passing glance for people who want a laugh or just have no taste, but it will never actually stand up to real artistry, at least in my opinion. With how much of a negative light is cast on AI generated content being used professionally as well, I don't think we will see it used by anyone who is serious about wanting to create something because their reputation will be tanked otherwise. Just take a look at games that use AI artwork. Hell, even games that are suspected of using AI in their creation get shit talked even if they haven't used it, like Silent Hill: Ascension. Calling something AI generated is becoming an insult these days, I've even heard kids tell people they have an AI generated personality ![]()
