Today, I'd say a good 1/4 of our customers were buying things for a donation drive to Florida. I had more $100+ purchases today than ever and I've worked here for like 6 years. The donation was being done by an independent business here with one location and one owner. Just a guy with family in Florida that wanted to send help. He's going to be driving down there to get is dispersed with the help of other community members. Apparently, people were even donating things like generators from Home Depot.

How absurd is it that we have to pay taxes to stupid wars that lead to countless amounts of death and destruction, not to mention the fallout from those things, when we have so many people on our own soil that are in need of assistance? Then we have to spend even more money to give all that we can to the ones who deserve it the most.

it's crazy to me that i don't hear more people out there agreeing and talking about this sort of thing. i want to believe that the majority of LGBT folks are against manipulating children and things of that ilk but i just don't hear enough people talk about it. even "allies" seem to either be all for it or just sweep it under the rug. considering """child liberation""" is in the very foundations of the movement, my default reaction to seeing anything gay is usually disgust until proven otherwise and i wish it didn't have to be that way.
