Ever wanted to know what God's Disdain would look like in 3D? I recreated the first town from the game in RPG Maker U2U's mapping demo. It's a little rough, and doesn't support events yet so there aren't things like doors or NPCs, but it feels pretty good to use for the most part!
Note: I am NOT making the game in 3D. I will most likely not be making my next horror game in U2U either. It's a fun thing to mess around with, though, and I'm looking forward to maybe making something with it in the future!

RPG Maker U2U has a free demo out right now! It's just a demo for the map creation so it doesn't have anything crazy in it, but so far this is the easiest 3D map creator I've used. Something about RPG Maker just has sauce man.
As you might be able to tell, the demo doesn't have the ability to place actual interactable objects yet so there aren't any doors. Instead, I had to paint closet doors onto rectangle shapes. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like I can get the player to be able to walk through them as of right now.
Still early days, but I'm liking what I'm seeing a lot. It has a map import feature too so you can import your MV/MZ maps right into it. That's a really nice feature. You'll probably have to do a lot of work after that but it eliminates some of what you have to do so hey, that's nice.
I can't escape Spoonman. Ever since I got back into Rock Band stuff recently, it's continued to haunt me. Every time it leaves my mind, I'll go one day MAX before it pops up again somehow. It's been stuck in my head for like two weeks now at least. The only thing that momentarily replaces it is also Tom Sawyer by Rush. More Rock Band music of course.
I've been enjoying playing video games a lot more these past two years, probably because I haven't had a massive project looming over my head. I often get the feeling that I shouldn't play games because there is something better I could be doing but that's been slowly going away and I've been a lot more excited about gaming in general recently.
I have no interest in video game discourse anymore since I actually like video games, it all boils down to extremely insecure men going 'god I wanna eat another man's cock like tiramisu soooo bad' which there's nothing wrong with that, just if you could refrain from saying it under the guise of the new Castlevania having an anime art style.
