i couldn't help but think the chainsaw man movie was extremely derivative, like i had seen a lot of what it had to offer before. it was still decent, but i really didn't understand what the massive amounts of hype was about. i figured it must be mostly young people who hadn't seen whatever it drew so much inspiration from, especially because living with someone 10 years younger than me had really opened my eyes to such a phenomenon (he'll get annoyed when i talk about how his favorite, newer games take inspiration and build upon older games because he sees these things as being completely original).
this video finally put that feeling i had into something tangible and i know why i felt that now.
how do people treat their controllers so badly? seriously? i have LAUNCH DAY PS4 controllers that still work perfectly. i haven't tested the battery life in a long time because i prefer playing wired, but i don't have stick drift, everything still works really well, etc. i had the rubber tear on one of them on the left stick but i just bought a replacement for a couple bucks and that was it.
my wavebird from ~2005 only just started drifting within the past year. i'm really sad about that one because i think the only way that's getting fixed is if i learn how to solder and put a new stickbox in there.
this also exemplifies just how bad joycons are, because i know i take REALLY good care of my controllers and that shit still turned into dust. my left joycon especially is FUBAR.
I kind of feel like an old dog at this point lol. Like any game I play I'm never going to get that much better at, and if I'm not already good at a game by default I'm just cooked lol.
It's kind of funny, despite being really excited for Ocarina of Time and being a lifelong Zelda fan, I'm far more excited for Metroid Ravenous even though I only really got into the series with Dread. That trailer was something else, man. Looks so sick.
Oddly enough, I'm also more excited for Stage Tour. The graphics still look like asscheeks but I'm looking forward to going through an actual plastic guitar game again instead of just playing charts on a clone. The campaign modes were always kind of fun in those games. I just wish it had the Rock Band customization where you could make your own character. It was always really fun making my guy and then making my friends to play the other instruments. I'm probably going to put 100+ hours into that game even if it's not that great tbh.
