@okabe_rintarou I remember playing Mario Kart DS Wi-Fi all the time as a kid. I don't think I ever won a single race because everyone was using an Action Replay and Nintendo never bothered to implement any anti-cheat on their servers and I could never play with friends because of that stupid friend-code system. But the Nintendo DS's built-in online functionality blew my mind as a kid and it was all free.
@thestrongest @djsumdog @meowski Or just have no code of conduct at all. If people are being blatantly racist/bigoted or doing the exact opposite, then they are clearly derailing the issue tracker/mailing list, so it's already worth a ban.
@rasterman @ArdanianRight @ChristiJunior I believe this post is true because it's been confirmed that the Super Mario 3D Collection uses Lua scripts for on the fly translation and upscaling textures, so it wouldn't surprise me that it is the case for the Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon re-release and Lua is a much better option for doing these re-releases for the reasons I just said.

>refusing to give Nintendo even ports of mainline Final Fantasy games long after Nintendo dumped the cartridge format
They even briefly ditched Nintendo's handhelds, porting their classic Final Fantasy games to the WonderSwan instead of the GameBoy Color/Advanced only to move back to the GameBoy after it was clear that the WS would not be released overseas. Apparently, Square also had a problem with Nintendo's censorship and strict licensing policies. The cartridge format was just the final nail in the coffin.
@ChristiJunior @ArdanianRight @rasterman Super Mario 3D All Stars along with the Fire Emblem re-release are most likely experiments to show Nintendo that they can use Lua scripts to patch code at runtime, so they don't have to create individual ROMs for each language/region. These are nothing more than over glorified prototypes.
@ArdanianRight @ThreeOneThreeChris Too bad I was born after that.
@ChristiJunior Well Ocarina had to be cut down because it went from a 64 MB magnetic disk to a 32 MB cartridge, so I think even Ocarina of Time was hindered by delays.

@thestrongest Anyone who has played Mega Man Battle Network would know why IoT is a bad idea.
