@Indigo I don't commit tax fraud but he isn't afraid to report anyone who does. If I do any side work for cash I better tell him how much I made or he will ask the person I worked with directly.

He's a hardcore neocon and a very proud public school teacher so it's pretty much expected. The fact that I'm an anarcho-capitalist really bothers him.

@Indigo Meanwhile I have a Dad who isn't afraid to report me for tax fraud.

Had a long conversation with my roommate who's never lived on his own before about how taxes work.
Dude is 21 and had no idea that you had to file taxes when you're no longer claimed as a dependent, didn't even know that April 15th was the deadline.

He thought the whole process sounded like some kind of crooked ransom deal.

I have high hopes for him.

I hope you all didn’t forget about the terrible code for creating pandemic models out of Imperial College London which gave governments justification for all the lockdowns and pandemic response

That “curve” we were supposed to flatten? The shortage of beds in ICUs? All “predicted” by an absolute trash fire of software coded by people with absolutely no business coding software with such wide-ranging implications

>Fox Business has learned that Truth Social is partnering with Hive, a San Francisco-based Series D start-up that provides automated solutions through cloud-based artificial intelligence for understanding images, videos, and text content. Hive’s technology provides automated content moderation across video, image, text and audio.

>"We want to be very family-friendly, we want this to be a very safe place, and we are focused on making sure any illegal content is not on the site," company CEO Devin Nunes told Fox Business.

>Hive co-founder and CEO Kevin Guo told Fox Business that his company’s AI model will be used for TRUTH Social to offer content moderation for posts to ensure sexually-explicit content, and posts that include hate speech, bullying, violence and spam never make it to the platform.

The Dictator's Handbook: Why Bad Behavior is Almost Always Good Politics by Bruce Bueno de Mesquita
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Like an updated Machiavellianism based on the latest research, it explains why democracies and autocracies are similar and only differ in coalition sizes.
The basic idea being that government leaders function to steal from the majority to enrich the coalition that keeps them in office.
Democracies have larger coalitions wheras autocracies have smaller ones. Generally the longer a group of people stay in power the more they tend towards an autocracy.

Governments also attempt to maximize the number of interchangeables, or people who are lower down the command chain, to make it easy to fire them and switch them for someone else if they don't do as they are told.

The coalition usually consists of some of the people closest to the leaders, and to an extent includes the police and the military.

If a leader fails to pay their coalition they are typically overthrown.

Definitely worth archiving for future generations as a warning to why big government is always abusive.

@enigmatico Reminds me of this. I always wanted a copy back when we had those book catalogs back in elementary school. I kind of find it lame that it only supports a few select genres though.

I hope you enjoyed my memory trip.
I will end this trip with this piece of garbage called "The 3D game maker", which uses an underlying DarkBasic engine and it's literal trash. I actually had this.

You could make games with it... if making games for you meant clicking a few buttons and have the engine generate a level with the objects and parameters you selected. You would obviously get bored of this in 30 minutes.

@neko Now here is someone who is actually creative enough to give actual names to their computers.

@matana @beardalaxy DS and Wii (don't know about 3DS and Wii U) asked you to read the health and safety booklet EVERY FUCKING TIME you booted the console. That booklet contained epilepsy warnings. Plus, at least her in the US, every game box contains a warning.

@beardalaxy I wish I could help but I hate my autistic voice.

@beardalaxy @matana Every Nintendo game has an epilepsy warning last time I checked.

BTW, is there any legal trouble you can get for not including an epilepsy warning for something that can cause seizures. I would never knowingly publish any seizure educing content without a warning, but there might be something that I forget to warn people about.
