So they recent-ish Steven Crowder situation prompted me to write a new article for my website "Balancing Fame And Privacy". Being famous is obviously a huge privacy risk, but there are things that you can do to mitigate any risks of having details about your personal life leaked.

I love how thanks to that one person which got their Ubuntu 18.04 laptop supposedly decrypted by pretty much the State (And what police got is emails. Stuff like local files aren't mentioned, we also don't know if say swap was left unencrypted), you now have the Security Circus running around doing baseless claims that LUKS1 and PBKDF2 are broken.

why are so many homebrewers and mod/emulation devs turbo faggots?
this nifty software lets you connect 3rd party bluetooth controllers to the nintendo switch, which is awesome. a great feat in coding and super useful!
BUT IF YOU'RE RUSSIAN, it changes your controllers to yellow and blue because "glory to ukraine."
this reminds me of when call of duty warzone would tell you that black lives mattered every time you started a match. when you beat that shit into someone it stops being a nice little gesture and starts becoming annoying as shit and people begin to resent it.

Retrocomputing Enthusiast but not so much for skinwalking meme aesthetics, it's just modern tech is kinda shit. I have a lot of UNIX boxes and some Japanese computers.

@lanodan I've only soldered once in my entire life and that was a decade ago. I do want to get back to it because it's such a useful skill, but there are dozens of skills I regret not fully learning in my youth.
I've actually never seen a laptop with hardware volume controls. The oldest laptops I ever got my hands on were pre-OSX MacBooks and I don't think they ever had hardware volume controls.
@lanodan I wish that people would still make laptops without webcams. I have no use for them. Shutters or taping your webcam doesn't solve the microphone issue.

@TheMadPirate That rainbow can be interpreted that way, but it is drawn in a ZX Spectrum style and if you know anything about that old computer, a lot of games on that had rainbow colored sprites.
