@PurpCat @HonkHonkBoom Wouldn't it make more sense for the corporations to just have their rewritten software just be proprietary or under some source-available license like what MongoDB does? It makes sense for a corporation to fork a program licensed under BSD/MIT, but I don't get why they themselves would license it that way.
God's Disdain will be DRM-free and will also be completely unencrypted. While the game doesn't directly support mods, you will be able to modify/replace any of the files, including everything in-engine if you own RPG Maker MV. I only ask that you don't steal anything for your own projects without prior permission :)
@BeAware @jerrykimbro The #Minds #API is borderline unusable lol…I just boosted it, let me know if you see it
Bro just found out about the #Fediverse and started panicking lol

@PurpCat @HonkHonkBoom I have a feeling that most of the woke part of the FOSS movement is going to leave the movement and join the ethical software movement once they all realize that freedom 0 allows the people they hate to use their software and there is nothing they can do about that.
Hell, the only viable GoodReads equivalent for the Fedi isn't FOSS. It's using one of those anit-capitalist licenses (meaning that only individuals and worker co-ops can use it). I can see some group of far-leftists either writing an OS using one of those licenses or forking a permissively licensed OS and licensing that under an "ethical" license.
@PurpCat @beardalaxy That's honestly a bigger insult to the whole Phantasy Star fanbase than just PSO2 fans. Rieko Kodama must be spinning in her grave, knowing what her beloved RPG franchise has become.
@PurpCat One thing with Pop_OS is that it is sold with a certain brand of computers so it is easier to recommend to someone who is also looking to buy a new computer as well.
I used to use Xubuntu regularly. I always liked the XFCE interface, especially how they set it up. It kind of reminds me of Classic Mac OS by having the start menu be up top.
@PurpCat That was always my go to recommendation for anyone wanting to switch to Linux. I would probably recommend Pop_OS instead now, but I think having something like Cinnamon as the default DE makes it easier for people coming from Windows.
