Like collecting merchandise of your favorite franchise is one thing, but I never heard of someone collecting figurines by a specific manufacturer. Of course, there will be some who collect all of them just like there are people who want to collect every McDonald's Happy Meal toy, but that should be extremely rare.
I assume that because these figurines are from franchises often associated with the "soyboy"/Redditor stereotype (Marvel, Disney Star Wars, Game of Thrones, etc.), it painted an image of someone who obsessively collects these figures.
