@frost Maybe a little bit of both. Due to the (semi)-anonymous nature of the Internet where people can "go dark" and change accounts, it's hard to know for sure.

My shoulder feels like it's going to cave in on itself - I curse my lack of a comfortable chair.

Anyway... DONE.
I don't care if some parts look a little "off" here and there - DONE.

Wow, the UN adopted @CryptPad 🥳

Did you know my friends started CryptPad, and I was one of the first paying customers way back in 2017?

I couldn't be more proud of their amazing work, and to witness their iconic journey.

It was my friend @ansuz who built a lot of CryptPad, that suggested I apply to NLnet.

And then Pixelfed became the first fediverse project funded by NLnet in 2019.

You love to see it.

@wowaname The fact that people still respond to hachi despite the low-tier bait makes me really question the intelligence of everyone here.

@ooignignoktoo Not to mention that more people would just pirate foreign movies if tariffs are placed on them.

@beardalaxy I've seen Poast(-adjacent) users shitting on Linux users many times.

I really hate how this side of the Internet keeps on flip flopping on issues. Like I remember when people would make fun of you for using Windows or macOS and call you a pleb if you aren't using a FOSS OS like Linux or BSD. Now, people will tell you that Linux is for trannies and that you are delusional for believing in the year of the Linux desktop, and that you are better off sticking to Windows.

That's just one example, but it's just one of the many reasons why I just rather be myself than conform into any community's culture.

if you want proof the dead internet theory is real I get DMs on my Xbox account with people wanting to buy my gamertag/account LMAO

Now that I think about it, creating an online community (at least one that is decentralized or have loose-to-no moderation) is kind of like raising a child. You may have a vision for your child. You may try to raise them on certain values, but ultimately the child will choose his/her own path.

Same thing with starting an online community. You may have a vision for said community. You may try to impose a certain culture, but unless you impose strict moderation, the culture of said community will grow out of your own control. I think this is why many people who create forums, imageboards, or social networking services end up getting disillusioned with the whole thing. It becomes something that they never intended it to be. I know a lot of libertarian-leaning people who create free-speech sites, but end up being shocked when they turn out to be dissident right echo-chambers.

You just need to realize that culture is 100% organic and grassroots, you can influence it as much as you want, but people will ultimately be the ones to make of it.

Mainly gaming/nerd instance for people who value free speech. Everyone is welcome.
