I don't care about neverclankers. Your opinion is ridiculous and retarded.

There are many, many issues with AI. Your witch hunting solves none of them. You're attacking random commoners with little to no resources while big capital pushes the worst abuses of it forward. Go away.

@tk @Lana people aren't supposed to care about national politics, they are supposed to care about their family and friends and community politics, which matter, and they can affect. the truth is political participation on the national level is the psyop, it has been scientifically proven there is a complete disconnect between what people want and vote for, and what they get in america, encouragin complaining and voting is a psyop to pacify you by making you feel like you did something.

The folks who want flock cameras in your neighborhood, the folks who wanna read your emails without a warrant, the folks who say, “If you’re not doing anything wrong, why do you wanna hide it?” have withheld 3 million Epstein files and redacted the rest.

@sister_sam Your too trusting. Just because the TV "requires" you to select an access point [and potentially a password] to connect doesn't mean it's not secretly connecting to an access point behind the scenes and simply not informing you that it's connected and transmitted data via it.

"Ubuntu's 'Rust-ification' Hits New Milestone: Coreutils Migration is Complete"

All I'm thinking in the back of my mind is... there is a reason Ubuntu's user base has shrunk from it's height and dominant position to one of being dead last.

The sad thing is even distributions that are following it that I more or less like at least as far as end-users are concerned (being easy to use and all) and undoing a lot of the crap Canonical had undertaken (in particularly thinking Linux Mint here) I'm a bit concerned that they're not moving off it fast enough. Undoing Canonical's screw ups is a waste of energy.

The actual value-add over Debian has largely been in the LTS releases and point releases thereof and that was mainly the graphics stack to support newer generations. That is without this component updated in addition to the kernel you end up stuck being unable to install a distribution onto a newer generation of hardware.

@smallcircles this is a very good blog post!

I didn't see a link, so I wanted to check: are you familiar with the #Unhosted project?

unhosted.org/

I think it provides a great model for networked computing -- bring-your-own identity and storage, with an open-ended application domain. It was one of the projects that was an input to ActivityPub.

I think the difference from the #ActivityPubApi is that AP supports activity distribution by default.

@cjd HA! This is perfect!

It says "not found." Which is true about American Politics. There's nothing to be found. It's all a business investment, board meetings, & middle management. Plus everyone's on the take.

@beardalaxy They're still around? It seemed like they've stopped appearing after DoorDash took off.

An interesting part of the recent history of technology:

I always hated the fact that IBM chose Intel over Motorola, when they built the PC. The Intel 8080/88 had a really crappy architecture.
