@coolboymew All those Earthbound/Mother fanatics praise the homesickness mechanic saying how it felt relatable. I always hated it. I don't know how homesickness would distract you from someone trying to kill you.

@coolboymew @Moon Democrats need to learn that they can't cater to both the authoritarian and libertarian left and that the two actually hate each other. For one, you can't support gun-control (auth left) and have a community neighborhood watch replacing the police (lib left) as the latter requires an armed militia.

@vix I was apolitical most of my life. I always found politics boring. This was back when it was all about taxes and health care. This was probably because my Dad was always listening to AM talk radio when I was in the car with him and all I could hear was some angry guy ranting about some new policy or whatever.

Then there was the whole SJW movement and the rise of the alt-right. The SJWs kept infiltrating all the gaming and tech circles trying to make everything more "inclusive" even though there was nothing stopping women and minorities from being part of these circles anyway. I also realized that they wanted to censor the Internet and get rid of "hate speech". I started to embrace right-wing politics. I guess around that time you would call me a moderate conservative or Classical Liberal with Civic Nationalist values.

Then I realized that you can never have any government serve to your will and that the old America that the Classical Liberals and Conservatives want will never come back. I also found out that it is the government that causes corporations to become monopolies and crush competition including and especially when it comes to technology and the Internet. No matter how much you restrict the government, it will always become corrupt.

Now, I am an anarcho-capitalist (though I prefer terms like "voluntaryst", "individualist anarchist", or "panarchist"). My views align with those of Hans Herman Hoppe. I believe that people should be allowed to voluntary associate with whom they want to associate with through private property and contracts. This will allow people to do want they want with there lives without society falling into degeneracy.

@rasterman @ChristiJunior @TheMadPirate @vix Maybe go to community college instead of full blown uni unless you absolutely need it. I haven't heard of SJW shit going on in community colleges.

@coolboymew @takao @shpuld Yeah. Apple could've ditched the gaming aspect (or made it secondary) and instead market it as a multimedia PC that is even easier to use than the Mac. Back in the 90s it would've been perfect for internet browsing, shopping, watching movies, etc.

@coolboymew @takao @shpuld Apparently, it actually did ok in Japan, but I guess it's because it also acted as an easy to use computer that plugs directly into a TV and Japanese tend to prefer that setup over traditional PCs.

I also heard that it couldn't live to its full potential as it was one of the first things Steve Jobs axed when he returned to Apple. Steve Jobs clearly hated video games and never wanted Apple to be associated with it outside of casual gaming.

@coolboymew @takao @shpuld I heard most of the software on that thing were just multimedia centers that you would find on the CD-i and the only actual games were Marathon and some Power Rangers game. But given that it is really just a consolized Mac, I'm surprised there isn't an active homebrew scene on it.

@dielan @ChristiJunior @TheMadPirate @redneonglow@neckbeard.xyz @Moon @why I still think that infamously bad games should be remembered to prevent them from happening again. Games like Superman 64, Sonic 06, Bubsy 3D, the Zelda CD-i games are remembered for a reason.

Too bad game developers/publishers are trying to manipulate those as well through bot accounts, false DMCAs, etc. Hell, when TLoU2 leaks happened, Sony DMCA'd a relatively obscure imageboard that I frequented.
