@beardalaxy Many of the fans of the original games hate the MMOs for that reason along with the fact that the MMOs have almost nothing to do with the original series in both gameplay and story. I think even the creator of the original games said that she doesn't consider Online or Universe as part of the series.
The closest thing to "sexy stuff" in the original games were Nei and Rika from II and IV respectively, but they were just your typical female JRPG party members and nothing more. I'm not against sex appeal even as an asexual (yes really but I'm not an attention whore about it) but I just hate seeing a largely unappreciated RPG series turn into a space waifu simulator.

@beardalaxy The only thing that bothers me about the "sexy stuff" in PSO2 is that I played the original Phantasy Star games and that's not what I expect out of Phantasy Star.

@Countermeasures The memetic work wasn't done by doctors, it was done by Google. There was a story that pretty much admitted they have what I call a Panoptic Console, though it was Facebook doing the admitting. Of course Google is smarter than Facebook, so they ain't talkin.
But the gist is that they are sifting through the firehose of data they have in an effort to deradicalize and control the unruly population that just won't shut up and do as they're told.
Doctors I've talked to do not promote the evil memes, they agree with me that diseases have always killed elderly, weak people and that we're just going to have to accept Covid19 and reopen the economy. Which says the medical profession in general is out of the loop.
