When there’s news about bad decisions by a company/org, reading the Hacker News comments helps calm me down. I realize “at least these dumbasses aren’t in charge, so it’s not as bad as it could be”.

As a big supporter of the anti-assault weapon movement I need to say, we need more legislation to make this a reality.

Just a few days ago someone killed someone in a Assault Car. No one needs a car made from industrial strength steel with a high capacity gas tank. You only need 5 gallons of gas to get to work at most, we dont need these kinda of Assault Cars on the streets people!

@1iceloops123 @Moon I just wish we can have a free speech community without it devolving into a /pol/-tard echo chamber.

I can make a site for free speech, and I can also make a site for polite company, and I don't think there's conflicting values having and appreciating both.

I actually agree. I realized recently, that the only way to be safe is to build a strong community on as smass scale as possible.

Any czech wanna grab a beer? (even though not in a pub...)

@LukeAlmighty The solution is that people need to focus on how they can improve their local community. Billionaires and politicians pretending to make the world a better place just gives people an excuse not to do so.

The issue of Bill Gates is pretty obvious:

Why should a guy who isn't involved in the health field be talking about smallpox?

Like if people heard me saying "new smallpox gonna drop get hype" a lot of people would disregard me because how would I know that? So either bill is lying (scamming) or bill is telling the truth. If a scam then it's a major scam, if the truth then bill knows something but not gonna tell us the specifics because "dude we got this"?

Like with Hillary talking about Bitcoin. It's either a scam (price fixing) or a scam (drive a frenzy in buying then kill the coin)

The fact that these people keep talking is causing problems why would anybody disregard it? :backfromgab:

“In any case, what should be clear by now is that most if not all of the moral degeneration and cultural rot—the signs of decivilization—all around us are the inescapable and unavoidable results of the welfare state and its core institutions. Classical, old-style conservatives knew this, and they vigorously opposed public education and social security. They knew that states everywhere were intent upon breaking down and ultimately destroying families and the institutions and layers and hierarchies of authority that are the natural outgrowth of family based communities to increase and strengthen their own power…. Old conservatives knew that these policies would emancipate the individual from the discipline imposed by family and community life only to subject it instead to the direct and immediate control of the state.”
