@bleedingphoenix @hachi Or worse, give it to Goodwill where someone else profits off of your own stuff.

@RupertvonRipp @ArdainianRight That's what I was about to say. The IRS hates it because a lot of people don't put it on their taxes. Megacorps hate it because it causes them to lose potential customers and cuts off potential middlemen. And commies hate it because they think it will lead to ancapistan.

@djsumdog @Suiglide @Sabex @charliebrownau @notsee It's perfectly OK to use soycial media (although Fedi-only, because if you rely on big- or alt-tech, then have fun with your bot audience), just don't use it as your primary platform, it should be secondary.

The point isn't to go down the free speech-only route, the point is to have a way to have free speech.
Have RSS feeds for millenials and smarter, I mean older, and soycial media for the smartphone zoombies with "wanna know my honest opinion on this and that? Click here".

@ArdainianRight Apparently this is another anti-capitalist argument. People aren't willing to help their neighbors for free because they constantly have to make money to survive, but this is all bullshit.

This is literally the worst far-left hot take I've ever seen.

I hate dressing up for shit. Too damn hot and uncomfortable. "Nice" cloths really have no utility.

For the love of God, update your tutorials if your next version of your framework is going to break compatibility in some way!

@ArdainianRight Can you just admit that we anarchists were right the whole time?

Marc Morano of ClimateDepot.com went to the COP27 Summit and did an investigation. He exposed that they are using the same COVID lockdown strategies for climate change.

I have two copies of that film and neither one of those has that scene cut out. Was it cut out from later copies?

@beardalaxy Permadeath sounds like an interesting concept because I really think games don't really punish players for dying. Seriously, why call it a "game" if you can't lose. But I think for more complex games, permadeath only works with randomization because people will get sick of the same levels if they keep on dying. I guess that's why that mechanic is used in most roguelikes and roguelites. But I don't want to use roguelike mechanics in my games because every other indie developer is doing it.

For action-adventure games and RPGs I think dying should reset all the dungeon progress for the current dungeon and take away all your money (unless it's deposited in a bank) and perishable items. That's why I plan on doing for my dream game.

>i'm pretty far removed from the movie world.

Same here. I was disgusted to hear that there is a recent trend in kids movies where the producers like to include scat references. The most recent SpongeBob movie had Patrick eating from Gary's litter-box and apparently this isn't the only movie to do this lately.

Does your game have permadeath?

>the real reason lies somewhere between "the guy involved sucks shit at tech" and "they got bullied by weebs", not "everyone fediblocked them"

Wasn't the original Gab codebase, before they federated, just some random PHP code they found off of GitHub? That just shows how incompetent Torba is. These people don't have passion for computers they either decided to form a new social network out of necessity or just want to cash in on those who have been deplatformed. I really hate how most right-wingers and other dissidents are this tech-illiterate.

And I remember people going after Gargron for refusing to add features like a hardcoded block for Gab or even a way to block all Pleroma instances (that would require all messages to include their instance software which I don't think ActivityPub has).

This is how the author describes itself.

Ana Valens is a reporter specializing in online queer communities, marginalized identities, and adult content creation. She is a former Daily Dot staff writer. Her work has appeared at Vice, Vox, Truthout, Bitch Media, Kill Screen, Rolling Stone, and the Toast. She lives in Brooklyn, New York, and spends her free time developing queer adult games.

Essentially, the author is a journo who makes tranny porn games…

Though I do feel that Gargron is a faggy leftist, and has done some undeniably shitty things, I think that he should consider that the community with which he surrounds himself hates him and will always hate him. They are narcissists who want credit for simply suggesting features. There is nothing that Gargron can do to satisfy them; these people hate him for being a white man.

Instead of hanging around faggots who hate him, why not realize that the funnest and most accomplished communities (Encyclopedia Dramatica, 4chan, pre-2014 Reddit) have always had very loose moderation. On mastodon.social, anyone who’s not a tranny has to walk on eggshells for anything they say. Who remains? the people who are so sensitive that they need content warnings. This is why rules-laden hugboxes are a bad idea.

I think if Gargron truly understand on a deep emotional level that these people are narcissists who will always hate him, he’d reconsider what he’s pushing for the future of Mastodon. Perhaps consider that defederation because trannies is mob appeasement, which never works.
