@djsumdog @TwistedEagle as if. The US will probably take money out of our paychecks to send them more ammo so more people can die for no reason other than what is quite literally virtue signaling.

@corfiot @admin @hachi @alex @realcaseyrollins I agree, I don't want to use social media for that normie crap either. But if I'm being honest, I couldn't see normies doing exactly that and I can also see myself just not following them. And it just seems totally reconcilable. There are plenty of users on the fediverse as is who I hold no ill will toward, but I find boring and I just don't feel like following their shit. So I think this is entirely reconcilable.

The Odin (the company behind those DIY gene editing kits) now has a tutorial on how to fucking genetically modify yourself.

@NEETzsche @admin @hachi @alex @realcaseyrollins The only thing that I don't want to become mainstream are imageboards because they have a unique culture around edgy content. I really don't care about anything else.

@NEETzsche @admin @hachi @alex @realcaseyrollins I would just so normies get exposed to ideas that go against mainstream thinking.

@alex @admin @hachi @realcaseyrollins As long as the users are well educated on how it works and learn to value decentralization, I honestly see no problem with it.

@waltercool I think Wi-Fi signals can't penetrate lead. The solution is to have lead walls.

@alex @admin @hachi Recently, I've been looking into twtxt. It's definitely not user friendly, but there is a web interface for it known as Yarn. I like it because it's basically RSS but for microposts. You can even host it on a static website or Git repository if you want to.

@admin @hachi @alex He seems to have more faith in Nostr now because accounts aren't bounded to a single server.

@Zealist @hachi @Omega_Variant @zombiefinatic They route your internet traffic to a remote server, but unlike a standard proxy, it is all encrypted, so your network or ISP won't be able to see your traffic.

However, the VPN provider can still log your traffic. Some claim that they don't but it is impossible to prove either way.

They are useful for bypassing IP or region blocks or blocks set by your network.

Tor (which is more like a chain of VPNs) is a more secure option but it is much slower.

@LukeAlmighty @beardalaxy They are cheap gifts for those who want to give someone something but don't know what. All they know is that they are a fan of X, so why not give them an X figurine?
