Yeah, I run soapbox and I respect @alex for his work even though I'm a men's rights activist and a carnivore while he is opposite of those things. I can interact politely with you even though you hold opposite views.

You for some reason can only get along with people who exactly align with your opinion yet claim to be tolerant and morally superior. You are neither of those.

There's a local wood worker on Craigslist that makes these beautiful outdoor tables. They're unfinished, so I've got to figure out what stain and sealant I want to use. I was surprised I was able to unload it all by myself. It's crazy heavy. But it'll be good to have a large picnic table for my fall potluck/bbq.

The downsides of being frugal.

The #OpenStreetMap Foundation spends, even with a slightly more ambitious budget this year than previously, less than %1 of what WMF/Wikipedia does, but is struggling to make ends meet.

There is no threat a la the infamous Wikipedia ads that the project will shut down, but without the funds activities will have to be cut back significantly.

If for nothing else, than providing software that's easy enough to start with that there's over 300 instances on that list.
These people make it especially clear that they have no interest in an open network, and merely want the appearance of one.
I never expected the freedom most under attack in free software would be freedom 0.
