@ArdainianRight At least in a libertarian society we can have something more exciting like F-Zero style races. I'm sick of shit being banned because "it's too dangerous".

@ArdainianRight Nobody cares about grown adults playing the same game that children play in the park. You might as well watch them play hide-and-go-seek.

@LukeAlmighty
>They don't even download adblock.

I don't even have adblock on my phone either but that's because I rarely use it and try to avoid using it as much as possible. Also, you don't need an adblocker for Youtube if you know how to leach the video files directly with something like Invidious or Freetube.

>So, how are you even supposed to approach them with the idea, that Laptop was supposed to be a dead technology, and a bad mindset is holding us from adopting dockable phones as primary work PCs?

There is clearly a market for them, even if they are niche. Even before the Steam Deck, UMPCs existed, but they were extremely niche.

@Inginsub Don't worry. I'm currently programming in C++ using SFML, but I still hate pointers.

I do like how C# makes them optional though.

@Inginsub For the record, pointers are bullshit and it was actually a good thing that languages like Java and Python got rid of them.

@beardalaxy The only TLD I know that is reserved is .gov which can only be used by the US government.

Tokelau (a territory of New Zealand) allows anyone to use their .tk TLD for free, but as a result, it's heavily abused (used in a lot of scam and malware sites). I wouldn't recommend using it. You are better off using a subdomain that your host provides, unless you are really desperate to be more professional.

How many people actually realize that .me and .tv are actually country code TLDs?

I've added a freeze frame after defeating a boss along with explosions. Ignore the high-pitched, corrupt sounds and me breaking the golden rule of keeping the cursor out of the recording.

For whatever reason, I get this random bug that causes the sound effects to be high pitch. It only happens on my new System76 laptop and I don't know what is the cause. It's completely random. Sometimes, it sounds normal. Other times, not so much.

@souldessin I said no GPS receivers. I want to enjoy my games without the botnet.

@jedlickavit talks micronation-building on our final podcast of 2023...

Wrist games NEED to make a comeback. There should be a wrist form-factor handheld console solely dedicated to these types of games. They don't need to be full-fledged games. Just have them be simple minigames as companions to full console or PC games, something like the Dreamcast VMU or the Japan-only Sony PocketStation and have it interact with a console or PC via Bluetooth, USB, or micro-SD cards.

Just please don't add any botnet features like GPS or cellular communication.

Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS cartridges use NAND flash for storage , not mask ROMs. Like all Flash memory, they "leak" charge over time and eventually lose data.

The Switch and 3DS card reader tells game cards to "refresh" themselves periodically. gbatemp.net/threads/nintendo-s

But, some users are reporting cartridges already dying, especially ones they haven't used for years. I wonder which of mine already don't work.

Just a reminder that you don't own any data you can't back up. Buying physical cartridges and game cards isn't enough if they're using technology that inevitably deteriorates over time.

@nekofag Not for me. I can't function without it.

I should probably research herbal medicine and see if there is a natural alternative though.

Honestly, I would love to add pre-rendered cutscenes to the game. It would be a great way to experience the alternate universe where the Nintendo 64 actually had a CD drive.

@vic I don't understand it either. Apparently, the decomp has showed how unoptimzed the original game was so the PC port attempts to fix things.
