@kristinHenry@vis.social Don't like [brand]? Just block them.
@kristinHenry@vis.social Brands on Twitter for example are an issue because they abuse the algorithm and they pay for sponsored posts and get special treatment.
You can't do that on the fediverse. I don't mind brands being here, because here our accounts are all equal.
@kristinHenry@vis.social I don't see the issue with commercial entities having fediverse account at all. Banning anything commercial at all feels like anti-capitalism gone way too far.
There are many commercial entities I like following on here, like hardware and software businesses. I also have a fediverse account for my own software business.
@amerika Corbett's latest presentation along those lines of thinking. May be why Trump didn't let it out as scheduled. Corbett always does his homework & presents his evidence, chapter and verse. The coup may have already taken place within components of swampville and its Pentagon commie traitors in Arlington. @jeremiah suggests something even stronger. The secret service is after all looking after your family for you. And their guns have pointed both ways for 60 years.

Honestly, having a compiler/debugger telling you exactly what went wrong is something I like about higher-level languages like C#, Java, or Python, instead of this "segmentation fault" bullshit.
Hey folks!
Please do NOT report artists for sharing links to where their art is available to purchase!
Just DO NOT be such a jerk!
If you want artists to keep sharing their work on mastodon, this whole "absolute no commercial posts at all" attitude has to stop. There is a huge difference between a big corporate ad campaign and an individual artist posting a link to their own art shop.
Edit/Update: Well, this blew up. I'm muting now, and won't see replies.
Why are women so fucking judgemental, especially when it comes to men trying to live differently? I've notice that men actually seem to be more open-minded to alternate lifestyles then women are, except when it comes to "alternative lifestyles" that are glorified by the mainstream like veganism.
It doesn't just apply to wives/girlfriends even just random women would criticize how a man chooses to live if it is different from everyone else. Some of my male family members who are currently living alone are scolded by female visitors for owning or not owning certain things or having certain things in certain places, such as forgoing a dish washer and just using the sink. Men don't seem to care, even if it's an unconventional way to live. Women always try to either get them to stop or ask among themselves, "how is he able to live like this".
It is ALWAYS female peers who negatively judge me and my lifestyle. My male peers are a lot more open minded if I make lifestyle choices that are not mainstream. Even if they are "normies" (I really hate that term, but that's a whole other rant) they don't seem to care if I choose not to have any subscriptions for streaming services or that I don't like to use a smartphone for everything.
Recently, my sister who had a resume generator program that came with her computer, decided to create resumes for us to help us all stand out. Yet I insisted that I use the HTML resume that I created because I can easily edit it and convert it to different formats. Hers was in PDF format and had to be edited in a paint program. It looks nicer, but I don't need to make mine look nice given that most resumes are just black text on white backgrounds anyway. I can easily decorate mine using CSS and have it look like a page from an early 2000s website. Of course, she doesn't understand this at all. She says that mine looks "terrible and unprofessional" and that I'm making things harder for myself by doing mine in HTML, despite me having a CS degree and understanding the advantages of using a markup language to write documents. Other female family members tended to agree, but men tend to understand how difficult it is to edit PDFs.
Is this why women generally hate the principle of "live and let live" or only support it if it benefits them? Is this also the reason why hate the MGTOW movement (even though I have some unrelated gripes with that movement too)?
