Obfuscate in the best ways. Still human readable, but gibberish otherwise.

signal certainly checks all boxes!
- guru type moxie
- who shittalks everything else, especially federated services
- signal actively works against 3rd party clients
- server side is running "some version"
- metadata handling is based on "trust us ™️"
- giant money black hole
- required phone number forever
@Hyolobrika There have been a number of cases, especially recently, where something was labeled "misinformation" and suppressed which later turned out to be true. You can't trust anyone with the power to censor speech, because they'll censor anything they don't like, whether it's true or not. Unfortunately this means enabling people to tell lies, but well, that's the price of also getting to hear the truth.
I'm wondering if you can do something similar but for source code. The only thing I can think of is to insert code comments that give the wrong description of what an algorithm does, but by doing that, you are doing a disservice to actual humans who read your code.
But I guess it doesn't really matter, because from what I am told and from my own experience using LLMs, they are actually performing even worse at writing code than they have been before. I still can't get them to write anything more complex than a Breakout clone and even then, the resulting code has some major bugs.
@aral Did you include Doom in thatlist of three games? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNg_S9UM5ps

Changed the sword sound to a "swing" sound and replaced the door sound with a free asset.

I’m not sure there are words to describe the joy this little thing brings me. (That’s what she said.) No, but seriously, a little device that just has a fun little game on it (well, three) and doesn’t need to connect to anything or spy on me or do anything nasty at all? Yes, please!
Not to mention, Super Mario Brothers is one of those magical games I remember from when I was a kid and I loved the original Game & Watches.
PS. I’m definitely better at it now :)
