I hate how the human mind has to be taken care of in order to be productive. You can't just sit down and study, practice, program, draw, etc. You need to be in the right mindset and you need to take breaks. I just wish it worked when I want it to work.

Refactored half of the entire game engine today, turns out amiga-gcc does not support C++17. Halfway there to getting a working engine build (working meaning "it compiles", obviously the graphics will be broken out the gate)

Well it turns out that itch's selection of downloadable assets is only marginally better than OpenGameArt despite the fact that you can sell your assets and use proprietary licenses.
Reminder that if you have unused game assets laying around, please consider sharing them on OpenGameArt. It would help a lot of struggling game developers like myself.

ESPECIALLY YOU should self-host and offer free mail accounts. organize to repay them in kind and undo decades of gentrification. reclaim the means of communication.
it’s not “i can’t talk to you because gmail is blocking my email host”.
it’s “my email host is blocking gmail for spam”. which is what actually happens when you remove all exceptions from a self-learning mail filter.

still finding bugs in the game ;_; gonna hopefully get the current playthrough done tomorrow though, and then i'll push the 1.0 update!
What would be really nice is the ability to post something and choose which servers the posts federate to. I think Librem.social has this feature but it's only for posts that stay on the home server.
