🤦♂️ I see a lot of people claiming to be genuine Native Americans in the comments complaining about this. I can't blame them.
"The Apache Software Foundation Drops the "Apache"
'As a non-Indigenous entity, we acknowledge that it is inappropriate for the Foundation to use Indigenous themes or language.'
And, yes. It says '1985' in the date. But, do not be fooled. For it is not actually 1985."

The vast majority of problems in the game industry can easily be solved if we had a truly free market where "intellectual property" laws don't exist. That way games will have to compete with other games in the same franchise.
Don't like how Nintendo is casualizing Pokemon? Just buy the Pokemon games made by this other studio. Don't like how Blizzard makes the newer Diablo games either online or mobile only? Play the Diablo games made by this other company that makes them for PC and playable offline.

I just created a website for Ioncom (my gamedev studio). Nothing much yet. Will get a proper domain soon.
So I just learned that the Spongebob episode where Spongebob and Patrick tried to get Mr. Krabs to feel young again is not on Paramount+ and has also been taken off of re-run circulation on Nick because the episode featured a "panty raid".
I've also learned that many episodes of 90s and 2000s TV shows have been taken out of circulation and off streaming services because they used the word "gypped".
I'm so fucking sick and tired of this bullshit. I would have never thought that early 2000s humor or media that used certain words, even taken in a non-derogatory context would be on the same level as racist cartoons from the 1950s.
Thanks to massive economic intervention by South Africa’s government, both crime and poverty are soaring as the society slowly implodes. Police protection is almost nonexistent, so many South Africans are turning toward private alternatives. | Henry Lever
Hello fedi. It's my birthday, and I decided to bring this instance back. I will be running things differently now though. Probably a full reset on the software side son, too.
I also came here to e-beg, yeah:
life's been hard, I'm in debt and will likely be unemployed by october, it's a long story. It would still be nice to at least keep the VPS paid without running up my insane electricity bill. #mutualaid

I've also been trying to get back into programming, or just making things in general: past few weekends I've been slowly working on a new game, and I will finish it by the end of the month. I will post another update tomorrow or the day after #gamedev
I don't know what to say about conservatives embracing cancel culture. You may argue that these leftists deserve the taste of their own medicine, but I don't think it's going to stop at Charlie Kirk.
This wouldn't be the first time conservatives embraced cancel culture either. I think Ben Shapiro is known for calling people to cut ties to people he doesn't like which is ironic coming from someone who is prominent in the "anti-woke" movement.
My only concern is that many of these conservatives consider you to be on the side of antifa if you are critical of the US military or at least America's military overreach and I can see many people losing their jobs because some conservative accused them of shitting on American troops.
