We now have access to powerful and complex tools at no cost, it can be overwhelming. Sometimes the best way to spark creativity is to add contrains. Try restricting your color palette, or work with just cubes, or even try a more limited tool. Boundaries can push you!

One of the reasons why, over time, I've learned not to condemn things outright is that life itself teaches you something important: sometimes you have to make the wrong choice for the right reasons.

Life is full of compromises. And the more you live, the more you learn (or should learn) to be at least a little tolerant of the choices others make, even when they seem to clash with your own convictions.

In the past few weeks I've had to make decisions I would never have imagined a few years ago. Choices very far from my own point of view. But sometimes reality pushes you into a corner, and the options are simple: give up, or make a "wrong" choice now and fix things later.

A recent example I can share: I advised a client to reinstall Windows 11. I wasn't happy about it, but at that moment there was no real alternative.
This morning he told me their software will soon move to a web-based platform. Which means the next step will be a new FreeBSD server and, at that point, the clients can move to Linux or a BSD system.

Fight your battles. Stand for what you believe in. But try to remain clear-headed.

Life teaches that you often go farther by moving slowly but steadily toward your destination, stopping every now and then to look around.

Man, a lot of you are posting the same memes I've seen posted like yesterday

Do I really gotta go on Facebook again to refollow all these meme pages so I can post the good shit again that nobody else is posting?

I would like to drop armhf (armv6) support in #AlpineLinux. The only current hardware I am aware of that is armv6 is Raspberry Pi Zero series (EOL 2030). I don't think it is worth the extra effort to support both armhf (armv6) and armv7 at this point.

Do you think we should drop armhf to free up some resources?

I'm proud to be one of Roman Storm's first donors to raise funds for a 2nd fight with the US federal government against their attempts to criminalize the act of writing and publishing code. Roman Storm was charged with a series of absurd offenses he did not commit in retaliation for pushing a privacy preserving cryptocurrency app he wrote. The prosecution brought charges and failed to get a conviction. However Roman now faces a 2nd trial and has to raise another million dollars to defend himself. This shouldn't be allowed- but it is. Donate to his campaign and push back against prosecutorial overreach.

And don't forget that Ian Freeman is still behind bars too for taking a moral high ground and standing against the feds! Ian has spent decades bringing together thousands of like-minded individuals in and to New Hampshire. He's been pushing back against the abuse of government(s) that want to take away your freedoms. His efforts particularly pissed off one FBI agent: Phil Christiana. He fought to spread the message of peace and one way he did that among many others was spreading cryptocurrency both literally in that he sold it (even so far as doing KYC which is certainly not optimal, but attempting to comply with immoral laws) and through his nationally syndicated radio show Free Talk Live. It's his efforts that led Bitcoin to being a thing outside technical and libertarian circles. Drop Bitcoin, Not Bombs. Undermine the theft of your money for wars by using cryptocurrencies and other non-government currencies like the Goldback (actual gold contained in a bill format).

@sickburnbro All the technologies that are now called "AI" had already existed for decades, i had a teacher who was trying to get a job on Google in 2014 to work on LLMs, they really aren't as special as the buzz about them make them out to be.

The only thing that really changed around 2020 is that the TV decided to tell everyone about it and give this dumb misleading name for popularity.

@icedquinn people already believe America is bad, and many people want to make it look even worse, so they are willing to regurgitate any bit of propaganda they see that appeals to that viewpoint without even checking for its legitimacy.

I understand that thought process completely. I actually shared something about the Fatal Frame 2 Remake being censored and fucked up a few days ago because I like the original a lot and saw people complaining about it. The difference is that I actually looked into it more and found that it was unfounded, so I deleted the post and made a new one. Thankfully I caught it before anyone liked the post or anything.

Even if someone hates America, at least have some integrity to go along with it.

For years, I've always thought that the idea of keeping a diary/private journal was stupid merely because if you are going to write down your private thoughts in a book, you are just asking for someone to eventually read it if they ever get access to it.

But now I realize that it's probably a good idea to write down your thoughts of the day because our perspective of the world is constantly changing and keeping track of that could help you grasp a better understanding of the world. Just like any other journal, it's supposed to track your "improvement", in this case, your perspective of the world.

Also, I don't think it should necessarily remain private forever. Decades from now, you probably wouldn't even care about even your most embarrassing thoughts/moments. Maybe not publicly, but you could probably pass down that diary/journal to your kids and grandkids in your golden years, it would probably help them out too.

God's Disdain version 1.1.1 is out now! It disables automatic window scaling with the OS scaling setting and adds a pixel-perfect scaling mode. This is particularly useful for displays with resolutions that are an integer multiple of 720p, like 1440p and 4K!

Check out the difference in clarity with this example. The left image is with the setting off, while the right is with the setting on.

Note that this setting will make your game look worse if the window is not running at a multiple of 720p, such as 1080p.

Every once in a while I randomly mouseover a profile (usually someone on poast or NAS or something) and it says they blocked me....

And I'm like, I never had an argument with this guy. I usually don't argue that much b/c it's just not fun... Then I'm like hwoooowww, they must have had this whole argument inside their head against some shitpost I just wrote and forgot about.

Meanwhile all my libshit mutuals (you know who you are), I can't believe you all still follow me after how much I can talk shit... Love all of you, you're the best.

WOKES ARE BOMBING MY GAME

Some people don't like my views and started rate-bombing my game (https://adeptus7.itch.io/dominion) on itch. Fortunately, I still have pretty good average (about 4.8/5), but I hope that there will be no more people like this. Anyway, I don't want to report them, because I am pro free-speech and I don't want to be a hypocrite. After the third one, I think I know why this sudden action - I commented on FB some awfull "Women's Day" post, which was like "True feminist supports all women, including transwomen and remembers that abortion is essentiall healthcare".
