A common tactic of abusers is to disallow their victims from talking to anyone about their relationship.

YouTube regularly demonetizes and suppresses creators who are critical of their policies or behavior.

@sim @coolboymew @why here's some movie-watching advice I can give you:

1. Watch a big mixture of movies. Old and new. Foreign and AmeriKKKan. Live-action and animation. Good and bad. Fiction and non-fiction. Fiction and non-fiction. Don't get caught in a rut.

2. Try getting lost in a specific sub-genre. Like, you can watch every Hong Kong action flick that Quentin Tarantino copied from. Or find a director you like and watch every single one of their movies to see how they changed over the years. Or look at your favorite actor's career from when they first acted in a candy commercial in 1976 to the current year where they can captivate you.

3. Read books about screenwriting. Robert McKee's was pretty good, and the 500 pages are more like 300 because half the book is pieces of movie scripts: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0042FZVOY/

4. Read books about the filmmaking process. Here's one I really enjoying listening to the audiobook of (mostly because the guy reading it did a great George Lucas impression): https://www.amazon.com/Secret-History-Star-Wars-ebook/dp/B008BM7M3C

5. Look at professional reviewers in print and on Youtube and find one you like. You don't have to agree with them all the time, but find one you like. For example, Roger Ebert's opinions are often wrong, but he was the best movie reviewer without a doubt. Read his original Star Wars review:

@maxmustermann @Publius @pasture Gab is clearly made by techno-illiterates. The Fedi is not that big, to the point of it being impossible to moderate? Even if they hated anime porn, they could've just take that out of the "known network timeline" easily. They're just retarded.

@josh In a year or two, I'll release a report on the bankruptcy of the Mozilla Foundation.

@TradeMinister @SteveTheDragon Yeah, it's almost like, as soon as Google became the main source of income for the Mozilla Foundation, they just completely started ignoring privacy for some reason. Probably a coincidence.

YouTube is really on a roll with killing channels this week, Eric Pettway got deleted. I assume because he has a lot of non-civilian full-auto firearms. I believe he owns a business renting firearms to the movie industry.

Now that I think about it, Phantasy Star IV was one of the games I succeeded in making my mum play during a particularly hard time, with me live translating. The other was Final Fantasy IX (which we played using its multiplayer mode). She finished neither but it succeeded in its task.
Great games, those.
