Many libre software advocates downright state that you must provide everything free of cost. Stallman thinks that this is bullshit, it's okay to charge money, you need some food to put on a table after all.

@nyx @cee @Cheezebell @iska You know, despite being a libre software extremist, Stallman's views on libre software are still fairly sane compared to other libre software advocates. Like, he wouldn't shit on a server for running proprietary software because it's pointless anyway, you can't audit this server so he'll probably support zero-trust encryption, IP spoofing or something akin to this. He'll probably also support straight-up self-hosting and P2P. AGPL is primarily intended for self-hosting, though it also prevents vendor lock-ins because you can self-host the code if you wanted to.

The tldr is this. The CEO Sam Bankman-fried and its partnership company run the crypto exchange called FTX.

They issued a token called FTT. Its a ponzi scheme. They sucked all the money out of it. Pleroma wasn't created by a pornsite, it was done another German dude who took advantage of a corporation handing out money, no work was delivered to the company and development continued, just like it started, without their support.
Alex's claims of human trafficking and any other claims, are nothing but petty lies trying to discredit Pleroma devs from rightfully kicking him out.

Much more than 50% of the pleroma instances still uses the same pleroma repo and has been using it since their creation. There doesn't exist a "vanilla" Pleroma because it's still in development, there is no "vanilla".

What Alex did was attempt to take over and brand Pleroma as his own project. 99% of the software Alex claims was created by the aforementioned German guy, whom Alex is actively trying to steal from.
