Statism: The belief that bureaucratic micro-management of society might actually work—but only if you make the forms and regulations sufficiently complicated, and the laws so incomprehensible that even lawyers disagree about what the text actually means, and how each law applies in specific cases.

After 24h+ test on Windows 10 and Linux Arch:
- no crashes
- ~6MB memory usage

App is 30KB in size.

Death animations for enemies has been implemented.

The sprites look weird because the outline color is the same as the level background color, but I plan on changing that.

would anyone around here care about a play by post server

its probably honestly just a sqlite backed bbs that supports like eight people, dice rolling and just like some basic style framing.

there's other shit that would be very neat (like hooking up voice cloning servers for characters) but that's like 'someday' level shenanigans

_BREAKING: Federal Government Will No Longer Pay Doctors Based on Vaccinating Children_

"Financial incentives have long shaped how childhood vaccines were delivered in the U.S. Now, CMS says it will no longer reward doctors for vaccinating children or require states to report pediatric vaccination numbers.

Advocates call the change one of the most consequential policy corrections in pediatric healthcare in decades."

What about the medical insurance companies?

I don't know where people get the idea that you can't find non-smart appliances anymore. Just a quick search on any online store and I can find dozens of appliances without IoT shit. The only ones that are hard to find (in my experience) are dumb TVs, but you could just simply get a projector or computer monitor.

I've just completed MEMO 0002 of for IONA.

This one is on future prediction, which is necessary if you want to create a school curriculum which will teach things that are meaningful in the future.

It's a fairly long read, but the high points are this:
* Nothing Ever Happens (of course)
* Robotics will be an app store connecting you to skilled labor - so skilled laborers will sell their work *through* robots, AI will help but will be subservient to master craftsmen.
* Future jobs will create technology which in turn is able to service everyone on earth (SaaS)
* Governments will become more libertarian as people and businesses do "jurisdiction shopping" for low tax low regulation locations
* Prediction markets will watch over everything, infinite jobs available in financial mathematics, democracy will decline in favor of corporate style administration

Whole document is here:

IONA is a plan for a boarding school to preserve western civilization. You can read about it here: https://iona.pkt.wiki/

Hey guys, fellow fedizen @veru has been in the hospital since Christmas. Please keep them and their family in your prayers. I'll keep you all updated with as much info as I'm comfortable with providing.

Added a new enemy (the bottom one; using the second enemy sprite as placeholder). It shoots multiple times during its attack state. I plan on having it deflect bullets if it's in the normal state.

I'm so glad that I bought my brother a dumb projector for his new apartment, so he doesn't have to buy a smart TV.
