For instance, there was a character who wanted to "kill all gods", but you didn't know just how dedicated he will be, how strong he is, who the fuck even is a god in MCU, and especially, if there would be any effect at all.

He has a clear goal. He's a scientist, who want to create a "perfect race", so he does see death of others as nothing but another step in his process.

He even goes as far, as to cause a planet-sized extinction, since the civilization he created wasn't up to his standard.

The difference between him and other villains is, that in his case, you know exactly why he's a threat. And that makes him seriously menacing.
