@Mr_NutterButter @LukeAlmighty none of these people have ever tried to quit their anti depressants and it shows. Even something like that FUCKED me up hardcore several years after I stopped taking them (not to mention being on them to begin with). I don't understand how people can be so flippant about it. Anything that messes with your body and especially your brain's natural processes is going to suck and really is a drastic measure that should only be taken in dire circumstances.

It ain't that compllicated. We're so used to western "romantic comedy" propaganda, that we think, that a woman actually loving you back is some weird fetish.

Good morning everyone.

One of the trends I have noticed among people 5 years younger then me was, just how insanely comfortable they were sitting on the ground. It is an actual barrier for me to hang out with them, but more importantly, I was wondering, where the fuck did this new social standart came from.

And after months of thinking, it finally hit me. The reduction of 3rd spaces is actually much worse then I thought. The boomers were removing social spaces so fast, that young people no longer even expect a free table a chair to be avaiable to them.

THEY ARE USED TO LIVING LIKE THIS, BECAUSE THEY GREW UP WITHOUT A PLACE AT THE TABLE!!! :andyburnt:

This rant was brought to you by Moist Critical.

He was asked if he supports kids getting castrated. He anwsered YES.

Later, when he saw the backlash, he said "but I thought, it was not a real question".

Bruh..... BRUUUHHHHH....
What the fuck do you think the entire transgender debate is about? Someone asked you about the edge case, because he was trying to find your line.

Some people are truly retarded.

OK. On topic of anti-intellectualism.

I have noticed lately, that there is a consensus on both sides of the political divide, that there seem to be a HUGE problem with people refusing to reason. Anti-intellectualism seems to be the name of this trend.

Well, the problem isn't exactly with the people refusing to learn, as much as with people adopting completely different view on what tools of learning seems to be valid.

People on the left do believe in institutional construct of academic science. They LOVE posting names of old dudes who agreed with their current belief, as well as pointing to a definition, that was changed 1 week ago. When we raise to them the fact, that all of these institutions are bending the knee in fear of their wrath, I am not exactly surprised, that they see that as dishonest unprovable hypothesis. (So, no matter what scientific paper I bring, you will just say, that people making it were afraid to disagree with the mob? Ain't that convinient)

On the other hand, the right does LOVE to use the common logical shortcuts. Rules like "No medication can be called 100% safe and effective by definition" are not written in any science jurnal, but their application does lead to an ability to form a solid world view long before information can go through a peer review, and are also completely free of any need for an authority to confirm them. Yet, when we come to a leftie with a 6 step logical chain, they look at us as loonies, since not a single one of these steps is formalized in an academic style. (Do you have a paper, saying that castrating kids will lead to a worse luck in finding a life partner????)

So, that means, that maybe, the time for constructive debate might be completely over. We no longer live in the same world, and no way of communication can bridge these two worlds.

Do I still believe, that the multiverse concept can be used for amazing storytelling? YES!!!

But damn, Disney is working around the clock to bury me in bad examples.

Daily dose of eye bleach

Also, what an incredibly sore loser :D

So, I just randomly remembered Jonathan Haidt. Although, he is quite lame, I was wondering about him, since he did seem to be one of the first people to actually start diving into the psychology aspects of the political divide.

So, I wonder, if he has any new deep insight. 10 years is a long time after all, and I am sure, he had to hit some new insight eventually.
