@beardalaxy I always thought Gen 2 was the best until I played it again recently, it's good but you can really tell that Kanto was just an afterthought. Gen 3 was where the aesthetics really found solid footing. I mean maybe on paper Gen 4 and 5 are better, but Gen 3 really was so much more of a jump than the following games. And gameplay wise every part of the game felt so deliberately thought out and there wasn't tons and tons of random junk there to just be a gimmick like the games are now... The only thing I ever wanted for Gen 3 was a day-night system like GSC, but it is fine without it.

Also I think the battery in the GBA games is just for the real-time clock, it can probably still hold a save... And it's always fun to start a new game and experience it again. :)

Hey regardless how you think about the virus right now don't you find it funny that for about a month in 2020 all the rightoids were going "we gotta prepare for this virus and stop Chinese tourists from coming in" and the leftoids were going "no it's just a little flu why would you lock down" and then it reversed super hard. I don't feel like many people remember that and it feels really pertinent lately.

@beardalaxy I've seen reports about two major companies scaling things back, Microsoft and John Deere. But they still go "we're committed to diversity blah blah." I am guessing things are baked in to the recruiting process + company culture now, so they can just cut the chaff and get rid of the people they hired to create and start the initiatives.

@beardalaxy People like that... I really think they must have done something fucked up or not done anything at all when they were a teen or young 20's, and that made them feel bitter about relationships, romantic or friendly, and feel the need to try to project and police everyone on that kind of thing. Maybe they can't make ANY friends.

Living on campus in uni at 30 really changed my perception of zoomers. The "fully developed brain at 25" shit can't be right. All my friends were 10 years younger than me and the smartest and most motivated people I've met. I think it'd be a bit demeaning for me to, at 30, look at those college age ADULTS and believe they can't think for themselves and make their own decisions when it comes to relationships or anything.

@beardalaxy Oh yeah I remember seeing that before, it does a really good job of explaining a ton of history and East Asian viewpoints in only 90 minutes...! Maybe with the "post apocalyptic" kind of game, East Asia has been through tons of regimes and rebellions over and over, even in modern history, so maybe that plays into it too. I always thought the concept of something like, I dunno, Hokuto no Ken was distinctly Asian, I mean beyond it being about Chinese martial art fights, but how it portrays the antagonists and the society...

Is it just me or do a lot of East Asian games lately (especially gacha/F2P ones) have a story that is along the lines of... "Humanity got invaded by something, it's years afterwards, also all aspects of society are heavily militarized now." Feel like it's getting kinda banal but I like all the hot chicks

@beardalaxy It's okay, expect normal F2P skinner box junk, graffics are nice but movement is not pleasant (Warframe bullet jump spoiled me) and guns are kinda bland so far. I eagerly await the blender porn for all the hot characters. It's kind of like a less-fleshed-out Warframe or PSO2.

Oh, and for me also the sound mixing is fucked up, it feels like I'm wearing noise-cancelling headphones and the action is going on outside of them. I can't really find anyone with the same problem though.
