@fugger @BJay @matana jesus fuck xD

when you see anime you can pretty much always definitively say "that's anime" but it has far from just the same art style reused over and over imo. it's fairly easy to tell what studio produced an anime or exactly what anime it's from. if you asked me who made all of the shows mentioned above i'd honestly just think, other than gumball/gravity falls, they were all from the same creator but they're all actually different afaik.

this image of anya in different styles, case in point. though the recycled, low budget anime definitely lack originality and end up looking pretty similar. it's only the ones that take a lot of inspiration from the manga that end up looking distinct to the point where even if i'm not super familiar with the anime, if i even see a character from it i'll immediately know which one it is.

and miyazaki art is on another level of serenity and warmth, it looks like how good childhood memories feel.

@matana @BJay i only say gumball is the most unique out of all of these, btw, because it employs a lot of different techniques of art and blends them together really well. you have 3d rendered backgrounds, some 3d characters that have a sort of stop-motion look to them, a lot of absolutely insane facial emotion.

it also came before most of the shows on here so it gets a pass based on that alone. gumball never felt like it was copying anything. the show as a whole has a very specific shitposty nature about it and that doesn't show just in the humor but the art as well. the rest feels just, super generic.

gravity falls has some really pretty backgrounds, and predates a lot of the shows there too.

@matana @BJay out of all these i think gumball has the most unique style, everything else just feels way too similar. maybe gravity falls comes in second.

but lol @ the 3d example hahaha

been seeing a lot more love for silent hill shattered memories recently and all i can say is that i told everyone it was a good game and nobody believed me.

@fugger seizures in adolescence is something that happens in some people and then they grow out of it when they become an adult or thereabouts. my brother had one when he was only 1 or 2 years old and then another when he was i think 18.

mine are triggered by stress of any kind, especially physical stress but compounded by emotional/mental stress as well. i know a seizure is unavoidable if my right arms twitches in a certain way, but i can also tell i'm getting to the point of having one by my vision closing in a little bit and feeling dizzy. so i just sit down and take it easy for however long i have to. haven't had a grand mal seizure since 2014 iirc. i have absence ones all the time though and they get more frequent the more stressed out i am, those i can't really tell are coming on but i can sometimes tell i'm having one or i just had one.

@fugger i used to be totally fine with needles but after having a lot of seizures in high school something changed. i'm not scared of them or anything but whenever i get blood drawn i get woozy super fast.

a friend from high school just came out as a trans woman, and his wife at the same time came out as a trans man

i fucking hate it here

@fugger i've never been put under before because it could trigger a seizure. had my wisdom teeth taken out with just a lot of numbing.

@IAMAL_PHARIUS well they picked the perfect man to do it, considering he's just as guilty as diddling kids as most of them are
